The story begins with individuals on Earth who have measured the heights of space, yet remain oblivious to the depths of the ocean. In the realms where love and hatred coexist among dwelling communities, power struggles become sinister plots. Throughout history, every time evil has emerged, a savior, a Messiah, has also been born to eradicate it. And there is one superhero who belongs neither to the Earth nor the sky, but to the ocean—his name is Shark.

The tale of Shark’s birth unfolds on a ship where Pratap, returning to India with his pregnant wife Manasi, encounters violence related to caste conflicts in Uganda. Before reaching Mumbai’s shores, a fierce wave engulfs the ship, and Pratap is lost to the sea’s rapid currents. However, Manasi, protected by a triangular shield, is saved and taken to an underwater city beneath a volcanic mountain. There, humanoid aquatic beings, resembling humans, reside, and they call the city Jaladhar Nagari.

Gurus Pravachi and Jaraka reveal the purpose behind bringing Manasi there. The city is under attack by the roars of a water demon, and it has already defeated Emperor Somaru and his army. Seeking a solution, Jaraka instructs the remaining inhabitants to hide in the ruins of the city. Seeking help from the water deity, they are advised to bring a woman from Earth who would swiftly become a mother. From her womb, a child would be born possessing extraordinary powers—Shark, the one destined to vanquish the demons.

Manasi agrees, gives birth, and returns to the earthly realm. Through the grace of the water deity, the child swiftly grows into a young man. Shark’s abilities include communicating with other sharks and seeking assistance from them when needed. He also has a shark-fish friend named Spark, which serves as his underwater steed, allowing him to traverse the ocean at will.

Shark’s story and appearance draw parallels to DC Comics’ Aquaman. Notably, several villains in Shark’s narrative resemble characters from both DC and Marvel Comics. The storyline is intricate and intriguing, possibly due to either extensive pre-planning or sudden plot changes. The ambiguity surrounding Shark’s true parents, who reside on Earth, adds to the mystery. Unfortunately, Shark Comics did not gain the popularity it deserved, leading to its premature discontinuation. Only one issue of Shark Comics is recorded in the annals of Indian comics, published by Manoj Comics, which contributed significantly to the world of Indian comic book characters.

“For you, with you, every moment! I, Inspector Steel of Rajnagar Police, am always ready with my steel body and ironclad weapons to cut through the steel-like crimes. Call me at 100.” These are the words of Inspector Steel.

Inspector Steel is a cyborg, a humanoid creature with elements of both organic and robotic components. Being a cyborg, he is equipped with advanced weaponry and cannot be harmed by conventional and ordinary weapons.

Inspector Amar is a diligent officer in the Indian Police Force who is dedicated to his duties. However, his honesty has become a trouble for his family because his wife, Roma, who is the daughter of a wealthy father, despises Amar’s honesty. She believes that money is everything and constantly pressures him to accept bribes, causing conflict in their household. Despite this, Amar endures everything for the sake of his son. One day, he discovers that Roma had sent their son Abhi to America to study without informing him. This revelation leads to an argument between them, resulting in Roma leaving the house. Distraught, Amar decides to pursue the Octopus Gang, but he gets trapped in their conspiracy and is severely injured by gunfire, leaving most of his vital organs and body parts damaged beyond repair.

To save Amar’s life, his brain is transplanted into a mechanical and robotic body, transforming him into a cyborg and bionic creature. The entire transplant procedure was conducted by his friend, Professor Anis. Thus, Inspector Steel is created, whose sole purpose is to uphold the law and protect the innocent.

The first comic of Inspector Steel came under the same name, where he saves people from a terrorist attack. He encounters the Octopus Gang, but Steel doesn’t remember anything about his past life, and he recalls all this in the comics named “Sipahi.” In the Octopussy comics, he faces the new leader of the Octopus Gang named Octopussy. In the “End of Law” comics, Steel discovers that Octopussy is none other than his wife, Roma.

In the comic “My Body,” Inspector Steel discovers that his body was saved by Anis, but Octopussy also learns about this. She steals his body and revives him. However, to save humanity, Steel kills him and burns his body. Octopussy escapes from there. In the Rajnagar Protectors comic, Roma, alias Octopussy, makes a comeback. She confronts Dhruv, Natasha, Chandika, and Steel. However, when she witnesses her son Abhi dying, the maternal instincts within her awaken, and she turns against Octopussy. Enraged, Octopussy launches a lethal attack on Roma, but Steel intervenes and saves her. Ultimately, she surrenders, and Steel accepts her promise that when she returns from jail, she and her son Abhi will be waiting for her..

Inspector Steel operates in the Rajnagar area. Among his close friends is Anis, a surgeon and scientist, who saved him when he was injured, by implanting his brain into a cybernetic body, thus saving his life. Anis has a sister named Salma, who also works in the police department alongside Amar.

Inspector Steel’s body is a sophisticated assembly of advanced technologies, weighing 450 kilograms, consisting of advanced armor plating, chips, ICs, and weapon systems. Amar’s brain is the only human part left, integrated with the rest of the systems. He is a heavily armored cyborg, impervious to conventional weapons. Equipped with X-ray vision, fully automated bullet and rocket firing mega-gun, scanners, and various digital devices like lie detectors, fax machines, etc., ordinary bullets and bombs cannot harm him. His body is fully resistant to any external interference.

Being a heavy armored cyborg, he can run at superhuman speeds and uses his own impressive bike, which is constructed from automated manufacturing systems.

Inspector Steel has several enemies, but there are only a few who have posed a significant challenge to him, and one such name is Mechanic. Mechanic harbors hatred towards machines because several workers lost their hands due to machines in a factory accident, and everyone blamed Mechanic’s father for it. He was beaten to death by the enraged people, and since then, Mechanic has loathed machines. He clashed with Steel and even managed to steal his head.

Inspector Steel’s comics are still being produced, but now they are multi-starrer. The last solo comic of Inspector Steel was “Steel Ka Aadmi” where he acquired a body that was both human and steel.

If we talk about Inspector Steel with other superheroes apart from Doga, he shares a good rapport with almost all superheroes because Inspector Steel is a believer in the law and strictly adheres to it, whereas Doga is exactly the opposite. Doga delivers justice by breaking the law. So when Doga and Steel clashed in the Fauladi Comics, many prominent leaders had to intervene to stop them. However, in later comics, a good understanding was shown between them, but somewhere Steel has definitely advised Doga to follow the law, but Doga turns a deaf ear to it.

Another superhero, much like Doga, who never listens to anyone and has a passion for tearing down criminals, is none other than the Guardian of the Assam jungles, Bheriya. In the Half-Human Comics, readers have witnessed the magnificent fight between Bheriya and Steel.
