Raj Comics usually feature superheroes fighting evil, but the ‘Rajnagar Protector’ series has tried to break this old structure. In this story, Rajnagar is no longer a safe city; rather, it has become a kind of scary city with ‘hibernation’, i.e., machine possession. Machines are now taking decisions in place of humans, and the city has turned into a dark, hopeless world. ‘Rajnagar Reloaded’ carries forward the story in this same dark and dystopian atmosphere.
This issue is special for those readers who like the mixed taste of science fiction and psychological thrillers. In this comic, the ideological differences between Super Commando Dhruv and Inspector Steele no longer remain just arguments, but take the form of an open war.
Extending the Plot
The story begins with present-day Rajnagar, now called ‘Hiberzone’. This area is completely under the control of machines, where humans have no longer remained free but have become controlled creatures.

Natasha and Salma’s resistance:
In the opening pages of the comic, we see Natasha (Grandmaster Robbo’s daughter) and Salma Khan, who are fighting the machine army while wearing a special kind of armor. Here, the author has shown the use of technology very intelligently. They use lead filings and bullets to eliminate machines made of live metal. It is based on science that lead can damage the molecular structure of live metal.
Dhruv’s return:
As Natasha and Salma start getting into trouble, Super Commando Dhruv makes an explosive entry. Here, Dhruv comes forward not just as a fighter but also as a strategist. He does not fight only with strength, but outwits the machines by understanding their systems and how they work.
Flashbacks and links to the past:
The story goes into flashbacks in between, where it is shown how Inspector Steele gradually lost his humanity. Steele believes that humans are not able to deliver proper justice due to emotions; hence, the rule of machines is better and fairer. Because of this thinking, he makes his own wife Roma (Octopussy) extremely cruel in the name of punishing criminals. The clash between Dhruv and Steele is not just physical, but also a battle of ideologies.

Nakshatra and the role of the Black Cat:
In a part of the past, Nakshatra and Black Cat are shown entering the city through Rajnagar’s sewage system, i.e., gutters. The action here is quite exciting, especially when they encounter cannibalistic rats and humanoids made of live metal. In Dhruv’s absence, these characters take on the responsibility of saving Rajnagar.
The secret of Protoplasta:
The biggest reveal of the story comes out as ‘Protoplasta’. It is an extremely dangerous AI-machine program, created by Professor Hammond during World War II. This program can take over anything, living or non-living. This same Protoplasta has also taken control of Inspector Steele’s mind and now aims to turn the whole world into a world of machines.

Climax and suspense:
The comic ends with a tremendous bang and intense suspense. On one side, Dhruv is trying to break the entire network of machines, and on the other side, ‘two Dhruvs’ come face to face in the story. This twist makes readers eagerly wait for the next part, ‘Rajnagar Special’.
Character Analysis

Super Commando Dhruv:
In this series, Dhruv comes across as a warrior who is definitely tired, but not broken. He has no magical or supernatural powers, yet his intelligence, sharp mind, and never-say-die spirit give him the strength to persevere even in this reign of machines. He uses technology, but not blindly. For him, technology is a tool, not a master. Dhruv’s biggest strength is that he does not compromise with humanity.
Inspector Steele (Immortal):
Steele’s character is the most complex and frightening aspect of this comic. He is no longer just a common villain, but has come to consider himself a kind of “machine god.” The ‘immortal’ within him—that is, the human—is now almost gone. His thinking rests entirely on logic and calculations, where there is no room for emotions. This cold logic and cruelty make him even more terrifying.
Natasha and Salma:
These two female characters have added new life to the story. Natasha’s affection and love for Dhruv give emotional depth to the narrative, while Salma’s love for her brother, Dr. Anees, and her passion to save him make her character stronger. Both of them are not just supporting characters, but play an important role in taking the story forward.
Grandmaster Robbo:
The one who was once a big and dangerous villain now appears sick and helpless. Seeing the machines of his own making destroy his daughter and the entire city becomes the biggest punishment for him. In this form, Grandmaster Robbo appears completely human for the first time, and this is what arouses sympathy for him in the minds of readers.
Writing and Dialogue

Stuti Mishra has presented such a complex and heavy story in a very simple manner. Words like ‘hibernation’ and ‘reloaded’ are not just attractive titles, but perfectly describe the condition and atmosphere of the story. A fine balance of science and philosophy is clearly visible in the dialogues.
Especially when Steele says—“like humans, steel’s emotions do not cause fluctuations in the frequency of its tone”—his mechanical coldness is clearly felt. On the contrary, Dhruv’s dialogues are full of hope, morality, and humanity.
Art and Presentation

Hemant Kumar’s artwork gives this comic a grand visual appeal. The broken ruins of Rajnagar, the huge robots of the machine army, and drones hovering in the sky are shown in great detail. The bike chase and laser-gun-filled action from pages 17 to 19 create the thrill of a Hollywood movie scene. The selection of colors is also very effective—cold blue and gray tones for the machine world, while bright red and orange shades in explosions and fierce battles make the story more dynamic.
Technical and Ethical Aspects

‘Rajnagar Reloaded’ raises one of the biggest concerns of our time by directly questioning artificial intelligence and mechanization. This story delves into the classic dichotomy of man versus machine. While Steele believes that machines can be better and fairer than humans, Dhruv believes that justice delivered without sensations and emotions is nothing but another form of repression. The story also shows how technology created in the name of security, instead of protecting humans, ends up imprisoning them. The drones that were built to protect the city eventually become the jailers of Rajnagar—a frightening warning about over-reliance on technology.
Significance of the Series

This series was no less than a game-changer for Raj Comics. It introduced old and familiar characters in a new, serious, and dark avatar. ‘Rajnagar Reloaded’ is not just an action-filled comic, but a puzzle whose pieces gradually come together. Interconnecting events from World War II to the present day is a great example of its strong and detailed world-building.
Pros and Shortcomings

Pros:
The script of this comic is very strong and never loses its grip. The characters’ expressions and mechanical designs have been presented in the best possible way through stunning artwork. The suspense of the story is so precise that the reader keeps guessing until the last page who the real mastermind is. The scientific and logical basis of technology and weapons makes the experience believable and highly engaging.
Deficiencies:
The complexity of the story may become challenging for readers who have not read previous issues of ‘Rajnagar Rakshak’. Due to a lack of references, understanding the plot may be difficult at several points. Furthermore, the abundance of dialogue on some pages makes the pace feel slightly slow, breaking the flow of action in certain places.
Conclusion
Overall, ‘Rajnagar Reloaded’ is nothing less than a priceless gift for Raj Comics fans. This story reminds us that a true protector is one who preserves his humanity at all costs. Dhruv’s courage and Steele’s mechanical terror together create a conflict that every comic lover must experience.
The point at which the issue ends clearly indicates that the real battle is yet to come. Will Dhruv be able to break this mechanical trap? Will the ‘immortal’ within Inspector Steele ever return? The answers to these questions may be found in ‘Rajnagar Special’, but ‘Reloaded’ definitely lays a strong foundation for that epic battle.
This comic does not just entertain, but also forces us to rethink our relationship with technology. If you want to see a confluence of the golden age of Indian comics and modern storytelling, then ‘Rajnagar Reloaded’ deserves a place in your collection.
