‘Gojila Ka Mahasangram’ is a comic which is not only known for its magnificent artwork, but the combination of mythology and fantasy present in its story also makes it one of the most talked-about stories of its era. Edited by Manish Gupta and art-directed by Pratap Mulik, the comic tells the story of a tremendous great war between a hero named ‘Goj’ and a terrible demon named ‘Gojila’.

Summary of the Story

The story begins after the death of the demon king Khunkhwara, when the coronation of ‘Bhrikuti’ is performed in Rakshasaloka. On this occasion, a divine power yagya is organized in Rakshasaloka, which reveals a powerful ‘Divyastr’, i.e., a divine sword. But then a mysterious incident occurs, and the divine weapon suddenly disappears. Seeing this, both Rajguru Pakshak and Bhrikuti are surprised and confused about where this weapon has gone.

During this time, the story introduces us to a very powerful and cruel demon named Gojila, who was once a citizen of Khunkhwara. Gojila acquires an extraterrestrial gem named ‘Flame’ from within a boiling volcano. This gem gives him the ability to draw powers from all three worlds. As soon as he receives this power, Gojila’s pride starts touching the sky. He steals the divine weapons of great warriors like Nagraj Vasuki, Indra, and even Bhokal, and declares himself to be the most powerful creature in the entire creation.

The real twist of the story comes when Gojila realizes that his strength cannot be complete until he acquires the fire-powers present in Goj’s body. Gojo, who is the protagonist of this story, is not a common man. Seven divine powers reside within him—Bijlika, Destroyer, Shakal, Billaurea, Gurughantal, Third Eye, and Jhunjhik—which make him completely different from the rest of the heroes.

Gojila sends his two dangerous generals, ‘Scorpion’ and ‘Fisky’, to capture Gojo and wreak havoc in human settlements. Gojo faces these dangers with his amazing powers and the help of his unique vehicle ‘Mankot’ (which is a giant spider-like device). In the end, by combining physical strength and mind tricks, Gojo breaks Gojila’s ego and frees the world from its terror.

Character Illustration

Gojo (Hero):
Gojo comes across as a hero with many powers and multiple forms present within him. He does not fight alone, but has seven different powers and personalities. This concept was quite new and exciting for the readers of that time. Gojo is calm, understanding, and helpful by nature. He fights not just to protect himself, but to save the lives of innocent people. Be it the power of the Destroyer or the speed of Bijlika, every power of his makes the story more exciting.

Gojila (Villain):
Gojila’s name may seem similar to the famous ‘Godzilla’ from Japanese films, but the Gojila of Raj Comics is completely different. He is a green giant monster who relies purely on strength. He is arrogant, ruthless, and considers himself above everyone else. His penance, performed for 200 years in the lava of a volcano, shows his stubbornness and perseverance, even if his path is wrong. The ‘Flame’ gem makes him so powerful that it seems almost impossible to defeat him.

Sharif Man (Assistant Villain):
A very interesting character in this comic is ‘Sharif Man’. He may seem decent by name, but in reality, he is a demon. He is a very loyal servant of Gojila and plays a key role in trapping Gojo through his cunning and mind games.

Art and Portraiture

Pratap Mullick and his team—Gopal and Rahul—have really brought life to this comic. Despite the printing technology of that era, the choice of colors is very deep and effective. The green color of Gojila and the red-yellow lava effects of the volcano appear quite vibrant on the pages. The speed and energy in the battle scenes feel very clear, especially when ‘Scorpion’ spits out poison or Gojo opens his ‘Third Eye’. Sound effects such as ‘kydam’, ‘dhadak’, and ‘bhannan’ make the reader feel as if he himself is standing in the middle of that battle.

Story Highlights and Themes

The biggest feature of this comic is the neat classification of Gojo’s powers and their use in sequence. Bijlika’s lightning-like speed, the Destroyer’s unbreakable armor, Gurughantal’s ability to protect himself from poison, and the devastating fire of the Third Eye together do not allow the pace of the story to slow down. The mention of Gojila stealing weapons from heroes like Bhokal and Nagraj on pages 5 and 6 intertwines the Raj Comics Universe and raises questions in the minds of readers about whether there will be any major crossovers in the future.

Psychological Warfare

At the end of the story, Gojo not only wins with strength but also uses his brain. He deceives Gojila by creating a counterpart of himself. Gojila assumes that he has killed Gojo, but then the real Gojo appears. This moment becomes the most powerful climax of the story and shows how important intelligence is along with strength.

Critical Analysis

Positive side:
The pace of the story is very fast and does not slacken anywhere. The reader’s curiosity remains intact from beginning to end. Having seven powers within the same hero, with a different form for each power—at some places robot-like and at other places monster-like—shows the brilliant imagination of the writer. The dialogues are short but effective; cruelty is reflected in the dialogues of the demons, and confidence is clearly visible in Gojo’s words.

Weak side:
The resemblance of the name ‘Gojila’ to the Japanese ‘Godzilla’ could have confused some readers, although the two have completely different characters. In some places, the logic in the story seems a little weak, where powers suddenly appear or disappear, but in fantasy comics, this is usually considered creative freedom.

Social and Cultural Context

Raj Comics has always included Indian culture and mythological elements in its stories. ‘Gojila Ka Mahasangram’ includes references such as Yagya, Divyastra, Indra’s Vajra, and Rakshasaloka, which are inspired by Indian myths. This helps keep children connected to their roots and makes them believe that ultimately good wins over evil.

Conclusion

‘Gojila Ka Mahasangram’ is not just a comic, but a great example of the creative thinking of a period when these colorful pages were one of the biggest sources of entertainment. It is a story of Gojo’s bravery and Gojila’s destruction that still fills old readers with a sense of adventure.

The comic ends with a positive message when Rajguru Pakshak says—
“Gojo saved all three worlds from the great battle of Gojila.”

This victory is not just Gojo’s victory, but the victory of the belief that where there is righteousness and truth, victory is certain.

If you are a fan of Raj Comics or enjoy old fantasy stories, then this comic must be part of your collection. It is a great example of Indian-style art, imagination, and storytelling.

aur Pratap Mullick ka shandaar artwork milkar is kahani ko timeless bana dete hain. Gojila ka Flame gem Gojila Ka Mahasangram Raj Comics ka ek classic fantasy comic hai jisme Gojo ki saat divya shaktiyan Indian mythology ke tatva
