Can an ordinary person bring two big superheroes to their knees without any superpowers? Can one enslave science simply by virtue of one’s cunning intellect and never-ending greed? Who was the person who destroyed the personal life of Delhi’s protector ‘Parmanu‘, killed his aunt, and made the lawkeeper ‘Inspector Steel’ thirsty for Parmanu’s blood? Can the greed for wealth bring a person down to such an extent that he puts the entire city at the mercy of a nuclear bomb?

All these questions have the same answer—Ratan Daga!

The Empire of Greed: The Journey from an Ordinary Associate to a Mastermind

Ratan Daga was not a demon or a creature with supernatural powers by birth. He was an embodiment of an ordinary human mind and immense greed. Since childhood, there was only one religion and one God in his life—’immense wealth’.

Ratan Daga believed that there was no wrong or right way to earn money in the world. Due to this desire, he started working as a chief associate with one of the country’s greatest scientists, Professor Kamal Kumar (uncle of Inspector Vinay alias Parmanu).

When Ratan Daga, while working in Professor Kamal Kumar’s lab, saw how atomic energy, molecular transformation, and superhuman-forming machines worked, his eyes opened wide. He understood that Professor Kamal Kumar’s mind was a gold mine capable of earning billions and trillions of rupees.

Daga proposed to the professor that they should earn billions of rupees by selling these scientific discoveries in the international market and make criminals from all over the world dance to their tune. But the country-loving and honest Professor Kamal Kumar rejected this disgusting offer from Daga, humiliated him, and threw him out of his laboratory (Lab).

Blackmail, deception and trap: ‘Parmanu’s’ secret identity exposed

Ratan Daga, who came out humiliated, now had only two things on his mind: first, earning immense wealth, and second, making Professor Kamal Kumar bow at his feet, becoming his slave, and using his scientific abilities.

For this, Daga laid a very disgusting and elaborate trap:

• Use of aunt (Shobha): Daga knew that Professor Kamal Kumar’s weakness was his wife Shobha (Vinay’s aunt). Daga lured Shobha with his lavish lifestyle, money, and false love. Shobha left her husband and started living with Daga.

• Secret lab and the secret of ‘Parmanu’: When Shobha realized her mistake and wanted to return to the professor, Daga used her for blackmail and espionage. Through Shobha, Daga traced the secret lab built under Professor Kamal Kumar’s house and the surveillance cameras installed there.

• Biggest revelation: Surveillance camera footage revealed to Ratan Daga the secret that was hidden from the entire world—that Delhi Police Inspector Vinay was actually the superhero ‘Parmanu’!

Many victims with one arrow: Aunt’s murder and Parmanu’s destruction plan

When Ratan Daga came to know Parmanu’s true identity, he planned to kill several birds with one stone. He got Inspector Vinay’s service revolver stolen and used it to shoot Shobha (Mami) in the chest, killing her.

With this one murder, Ratan Daga turned the entire incident around like this:

1. Professor Kamal Kumar broken: Due to the shock of his wife’s murder and suspicion falling on his nephew, Professor Kamal Kumar went into deep depression and later into a coma.

2. Inspector Vinay implicated: Inspector Vinay (Parmanu) became the main accused in his own aunt’s murder case.

3. Mental Trouble: Vinay’s attention became entangled in legal troubles and his defense, giving Daga complete freedom to play his game.

Army of Awe: Those 5 Super-Villains of Daga That Shook Delhi

To carry out his plans, Daga resorted to several dreaded criminals and advanced technology:

• Mr. Rasayan (Rupesh): A master of chemistry whom Daga had released from prison so he could kidnap Professor Kamal Kumar. Rasayan had dangerous chemicals and guns that could turn humans into tar or glass effigies.

• Blaster (Bhupesh Katre): A mercenary super-demon funded by Daga, whose super-powered blasters could knock any building or mountain to the ground. Blaster had almost brought Parmanu to the brink of death.

• Nuthano (Neutano): A super-villain created in Daga’s lab who released ‘neutron power’ from his body. Neutano had the ability to distort the balance of atoms inside Parmanu’s body and turn him into a living atomic bomb.

• Airou (Eyero): A super-villain capable of manipulating the air at will and blowing away planes with air pressure.

• Multi-Villain (Multi-Villain): A cybernetic and mechanical superhuman, armed with electric current-releasing and computer-powered armor.

Vicious Minds Even Behind Bars: W.V.S. and the Mechanic’s Dangerous Nexus

Even when Parmanu exposed Ratan Daga’s truth with evidence and put him behind bars, Daga’s mind did not calm down. While in prison, he contacted W.V.S. (World Villain Society) and a criminal named ‘Mechanic’.

The Mechanic’s ‘automatic micro-tools’ (small robotic tools) cut through the thick bars and iron doors of the jail like wax, and Ratan Daga escaped from the jail roof with the help of a newly created super-powered villain, ‘Nuthano’.

Masterstroke: When a Betrayal by Daga Made ‘Parmanu’ and ‘Inspector Steel’ Sworn Enemies

After escaping from jail, Daga saw Professor Kamal Kumar lying in a coma at All India Medical Hospital (AIIMS). To bring him out of the coma, Dr. Anees Raza, a famous neurosurgeon from Rajnagar, was being called to Delhi (Doctor Anees Raza was the creator of the half-man, half-machine ‘Inspector Steel’).

Daga knew that if Professor Kamal Kumar came out of the coma, he would help Parmanu again. So he hijacked the airplane carrying Dr. Anees Raza and kidnapped him.

After this, Daga wove such a creepy web:

• Daga created a robotic effigy (Dummy Clone) of Dr. Anees Raza.

• When Inspector Steel arrived in search of Dr. Anees Raza, Daga placed the dummy robot in front of Inspector Steel and called Parmanu there.

• Parmanu thought he was destroying one of Daga’s robotic traps and blew the dummy robot to pieces.

• Inspector Steel saw the face of his creator and friend, Dr. Anees, blown apart by bullets and explosions.

• Fallout: Inspector Steel thought Parmanu had brutally murdered Doctor Anees Raza! Blinded by anger, Inspector Steel became the sworn enemy of Parmanu, and the two superheroes started fighting each other. Ratan Daga was enjoying this spectacle from a distance.

The End of Ego: How Were the ‘Multi-Villain’ and Daga’s Strong Fortress Broken?

Ratan Daga believed that after being trapped in the computer-powered clutches of ‘Multi-Villain’, both Parmanu and Inspector Steel were certain to be eliminated. Multi-Villain had jammed the computer systems of both superheroes and released thousands of volts of electric current through them.

But this arrogance of Daga led to his defeat:

1. Professor Kamal Kumar regaining consciousness: Due to Dr. Anees Raza’s treatment and the effect of secret medicines, Professor Kamal Kumar suddenly came out of his coma.

2. Use of Master Panel: Professor Kamal Kumar overrode the main computer panel installed at Daga’s secret base with his knowledge and cut the cybernetic link of ‘Multi-Villain’.

3. Revealing the truth: Dr. Anees Raza appeared alive, which cleared Inspector Steel’s misunderstanding. Steel checked the backup recordings from his cameras and discovered that the body he had seen blown to pieces was not Dr. Anees but an effigy made by Daga.

As soon as the misunderstanding was resolved, Parmanu and Inspector Steel became one. Parmanu destroyed Ratan Daga’s base with his atomic rays, while Steel used his steely strength. Ratan Daga’s ‘Multi-Villain’ was turned into junk.

When the Power of Truth Outweighed the Vicious Intellect

Ratan Daga is special in the history of Raj Comics because he became a nightmare for superheroes solely on the strength of his vicious mind, tricks, family blackmail and hatred, without any divine or scientific superpowers.

He proved that a scientist’s wrong-minded intellect could be more dangerous than any supernatural demon. Finally, his arrest at the hands of the law sent a message that no matter how far science advances, it can never become a slave to wrongdoing and greed.
