In the serpent kingdom, the unique beauty ‘Apsara,’ a serpent, and the brave disciple of Nag Baba, Taushi, shared an intense love. However, Prince Jabbar, the proud son of King Sheshnag, was consumed with jealousy for Taushi and desired Apsara at any cost. During the annual competitions on Nag Panchami in Serpent City, Jabbar, in his unsuccessful attempt to humiliate Taushi, ended up imprisoning his own father, King Sheshnag. To rescue Apsara from Jabbar’s captivity, Taushi stood atop the volcano and fervently worshipped Lord Shiva. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Shiva granted him the boon of shape-shifting and bestowed upon him mystical gems.
Taushi, a character in Tulsi Comics following Angara, was created by writer Rituraj. Born in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, Rituraj later settled in Meerut. His literary journey began with Kanchan Pocket Books after completing his B.Sc. and LLB. Subsequently, he became associated with Tulsi Comics. While Taushi is the king of Serpent City, he can also descend to Earth to eradicate evildoers. His stories often involve magic, genies, and the Tilsim world. Taushi has the ability to assume any human form and is blessed with six powers: Pakaddhwaj, Tridhwaj, Adrishtydhwaj, Chumbakdhwaj, Panidhwaj, and Ashtadhwaj.
After the closure of Tulsi Comics, Taushi’s comics also ceased publication. However, Raj Comics, by acquiring the copyright of Taushi’s character, has commendably reintroduced his comics. An exemplary feat by Raj Comics is bringing together NagRaj and Taushi in the same comic, ‘Sarp Satra.’ It’s not an exaggeration to say that serpents have lived for centuries, and Taushi has proven that, despite challenges, he stands tall, ready to mesmerize people again, and guide them through the enchanting world of Tilsim.
