Tutankhamun Unmasked: A Comic Chronicle of Ancient Intrigue

Cleanser of Criminals – Tutankhamun. There was a common belief that he was an invisible man. He claimed to be a thousand years old. He proclaimed himself to be Pharaoh Tutankhamun, emerging from the pyramids. We encountered these lines twice, both times when Tutankhamun appeared before us. The first time was in the comic ‘Nagraj aur Tajmahal ki Chori,’ where he, along with Thodanga, Miss Killer, Bem Bem Bigolo, and other dangerous criminals, orchestrated a plot. However, it later turned out to be the magician Shakura’s conspiracy. He killed Sir Robot and assumed his disguise but was thwarted by Nagraj, who captured him along with all the other criminals. The second encounter happened in the comic Nagraj aur Jadu ka Shehansha’ where Tutankhamun, extracting souls from the bodies of wicked criminals, placed them into ancient mummies to make them come alive, aiming to rule the world with these soldiers.

News of people disappearing also reached Nagraj, who arrived in Egypt. It was here that he first met Saudangi. With Saudangi’s help, Nagraj foiled Tutankhamun’s plans in ‘Piramidon Ki Rani’ comic. In the same comic, the Pyramid Queen required sacrifices of hundreds of children to fulfill Tutankhamun’s demands. Using a special gas, she induced the children to commit suicide, but Nagraj intervened at the right time, thwarting the Queen’s plan and defeating her, resulting in Tutankhamun’s disappearance along with the queen’s coffin.

Tutankhamun’s greatest power was his mask, which Nagraj took away in the comic ‘Nagraj aur Jadu ka Shehanshah’ He tried to regain it in the ‘Vinash’ comic, collaborating with Miss Killer, Nagina, and Nagdant. However, during the confrontation with Chandakaal, both Tutankhamun and Chandakaal disappeared with a blast.

In the ‘Samrat’ comic, he appeared with the masks and was portrayed as a slave to Karnavashi, stealing treasures from around the world. Nagraj and Dhruv confronted him in this comic.

Tutankhamun’s story has always been shrouded in mystery, and there is no detailed information about him. The main anthem of his power, the mask, was returned to him in the ‘Samrat’ comic, even though Nagraj had destroyed it earlier. His disappearance after the clash with Chandakaal in the ‘Vinash’ comic has left unanswered questions about his fate.
