‘Aakrosh’ is a creation of the golden era of Indian comics, which is still remembered today due to its deep emotions and large-scale space-opera story. This is not just the story of a superhero, but the story of the tremendous anger that is born from the ashes of betrayal.
In this special issue of Manoj Comics, there is a combination of thrill, action, and emotional drama which makes it special. Tilak’s powerful story and the brilliant artwork of Dilip Kadam and Jaiprakash Jagtap give it a kind of epic look.
In this comic, the battle for power, intrigue, and justice takes place on a distant planet ‘Taro’. Its name ‘Indignation’ fits perfectly, because the whole story revolves around the anger of a hero who changes from a prince to a vengeful warrior.
This is such a special issue of Manoj Comics, which, due to its grandeur and deep story, has become a collector’s piece for comic lovers.

Story and Analysis (Detailed Plot Summary and Analysis)
The story begins on the planet Taro — a beautiful, sparkling planet decorated like a bride. Today is a big day here — Crown Prince Mahabali Amber (Mahabali Ambar) is about to be crowned. The people of Taro have been waiting for this moment for 16 full years.
There is an atmosphere of celebration in the palace; everyone’s faces are blooming with happiness. But this happiness does not last long.
Just before the coronation, news is received that Amber’s master Kalguru Khataro (Kaalguru Khataro) is sitting in the “Kop Building” — i.e., the room of anger — where someone sits insulted or angry. It is considered inauspicious for a Kalguru to visit there on such an auspicious occasion.
Amber, who is the true and just prince, does not ignore it. He stops the coronation and announces that the ceremony will not take place until he knows why the Kalguru is angry.
This moment shows the real glimpse of his character — Amber puts duty and the respect of his subjects before his pride.

Now the story takes a dramatic turn.
Kalguru’s eyes turn red at Amber’s question — as if anger or some hidden secret is burning in them. He takes Amber to a mysterious place, where the atmosphere is like a crematorium. There is a dead body lying there. Amber gets scared.
Kalguru slowly removes the shroud from that dead body — and what comes out changes Amber’s world completely.
That body belongs to none other than his father — Emperor Lambaku, the Great King of Taro. Seeing the condition of the dead body, Amber gets goosebumps — the body has been stabbed in several places.
This scene is so scary and painful that Amber breaks down. He bursts out clinging to the dead body, and at that very moment, his appearance changes.
Prince Amber now becomes ‘Indignation’ — a warrior who now just wants the blood of his father’s murderer.
He swears by placing his hand on his father’s dead body —
“I will wear the crown of Taro only if I tilak it with the blood of my father’s murderer!”
He vows that he will punish the one who has committed this heinous act with a punishment more terrible than death.

Amber’s heart has now become fire. He asks the Kalguru who the killer is.
Kalguru, whose eyes now shine like a fox, completes his trick. He says —
“The killer is Emperor Kapo (Samrat Kapo of Plato) of the planet Plato.”
Amber, without delay, sets out for Plato with his huge army, promising that he will return only with the head of Emperor Kapo.
And as he leaves Taro, the evil laughter of Kalguru Khataro echoes behind.
He says —
“Taro’s crown has been mine since Emperor Lambaku’s death!”
In fact, the same Kalguru was the real killer. He was the one who killed Lambaku and put the entire blame on Emperor Kapo. His motive was clear — to capture the throne of Taro by luring Amber into the fire of revenge.

In-depth Analysis of the Characters and Explanation of ‘Outrage’

(Deep Character Analysis and Interpretation of ‘Aakrosh’)

Mahabali Amber / Outrage (Mahabali Ambar / Aakrosh)
Amber is the real center of this story. He is initially seen as an ideal and good-natured prince, immersed in the joy of the coronation. But when he sees the Kalguru sitting in the Kop Bhavan and at the same time refuses to wear the crown, the true form of his personality is revealed — a person who puts his responsibility and sense of justice above all else.
But as soon as he sees his father’s body, everything changes. His heart breaks, and the quiet Amber inside turns into a burning outrage. This is not just anger, but a combination of a son’s pain, debt to his father, and the feeling of protecting his kingdom. Now he starts walking not with logic or understanding, but with his emotions.
Kalguru takes advantage of this weakness. This volcano-like feeling of Amber becomes the name of this comic — ‘Outrage’, because now his entire existence is just burning in the fire of revenge and justice.

Kalguru Khataro (Kaalguru Khataro)
Kalguru Khataro is one of the most clever and dangerous villains of Indian comics. His character symbolizes deception for power and greed. The word “Kalguru” means knowledge-giver or guide. But Khataro is the opposite — the same guru who sends his disciple on the path of destruction. This gives more depth to his character.

He plays the whole game with a very cool mind — first incites Amber’s curiosity by sitting in the Kop Building, then by placing his father’s body in front of him, takes his inner pain and anger to its peak, and finally, by lying, sends him against a fake enemy, Emperor Kapo.
His last laugh, when he says — “The crown of Taro has been in my possession since the death of Emperor Lambaku,” makes it clear that it was all a well-planned conspiracy.
His “fox-like shining eyes” and clever smile make him not an ordinary villain but a mastermind — one who makes his moves by playing with the emotions of others.

Emperor Lambaku and Emperor Kapo (Samrat Lambaku and Samrat Kapo)
Emperor Lambaku may not be directly present in the story, but his presence is the soul of the entire narrative. His body is the focal point from which the story progresses. His murder becomes the real reason for Amber’s “outrage.” Lambaku’s body here is a symbol — of that fight for power where even the corpse of a dead king becomes a tool of politics.
Emperor Kapo, on the other hand, is initially shown to be a villain, but in reality, he is an innocent human being whom the Kalguru made a scapegoat.
Through these two characters, the story shows that the truth often becomes blurred in politics, where real criminals are covered up and innocents are punished.

Writing, Dialogue, and Emotional Fabric

Writer Tilak has created a story in this comic which has an amazing balance of speed, mystery, and emotion. The pace of the story is so fast that it shocks the reader at every moment — from the opening celebration to the dead body scene.
Talking about the dialogues, they are the life of this comic. Amber’s famous dialogue —
“Crown of Taro, now I will accept it only after applying the tilak of my father’s murderer’s blood,”
is the essence of the whole story. In this, the feeling of revenge is given a majestic and almost mythological height.

At the same time, the satirical sentence of the Kalguru — “Everyone in Taro knows the meaning of sitting in the Kop Building,” along with his cunning, also shows a kind of dark humor.
And when he finally laughs — “Ha… Ha… Ha… The crown of Taro has been in my possession since the death of Emperor Lambaku,” that laughter becomes a declaration of his victory — a merciless and deceitful victory.
The setting of the story may be in space, but Tilak has deeply linked Indian emotions and traditions inside it — such as paternal debt, Rajdharma, and the guru-disciple relationship.
All this makes it not just a science fiction comic, but a human story connected with Indian values. Here, the idea of the Kop Bhavan also seems to be inspired by Indian mythology — where queens or important persons used to go to such chambers to express their insult or anger.

Illustration and Evaluation of Artwork

(Evaluation of Artwork and Illustration)

The work of artists Dilip Kadam and Jaiprakash Jagtap is very important in the success of Mahabali Amber Comics. Both of them have presented such artwork which shows a subject like a space opera in a very effective manner for the comics era of that time.
The character design is fantastic — the majestic and strong look of Mahabali Amber, the green face of Kalguru Khataro with his scary long beard, and the heartbreaking glimpse of Emperor Lambaku’s dead body — all combine to give more depth to the emotional scenes of the story.
The artists have shown emotions in the best way through faces and colors — Amber being red with anger, the timeless fox-like glowing eyes of the Kalguru, and fear and silence reflected on the faces of the people of Taro — all of which combine to make the mood of the story very effective.
The paneling and action sequences of the comic are also excellent. The opening scenes use large panels to show the grandeur of the planet, while scenes like Amber leaving for war with his army are extremely dynamic and full of excitement. These scenes have a kind of cinematic feel, which makes “Outrage” visually memorable.

Extended Critical Commentary

(Extended Cultural Commentary)

‘Outrage’s greatest strength is its emotional intensity and high speed. No moment is dragged in the story — the writer comes straight to the main conflict, and that is his greatest quality.
This comic deals with the subject of the “fragility of trust” in a very effective way.
Amber trusts his guru, Kalguru, completely. But this blind faith proves to be the biggest mistake of his life.
Kalguru using a sacred position like that of a “guru” to gain power is a direct attack on Indian morality.
The story teaches us that the hunger for power is so dangerous that it can break even the most trustworthy relationships.
Amber’s quick retribution (Swift Vengeance) makes the story morally more intriguing.
Seeing his father murdered, he immediately takes the path of revenge instead of justice.
Without thinking, he just obeys the Kalguru and considers Emperor Kapo the murderer.
A prince must take care of the safety of his kingdom and subjects, but Amber’s indignation blinds him. In this anger, he surrenders his kingdom to the very person — Kalguru — who is the real villain.
From this, the story teaches a deep lesson: no matter how right a decision seems in the heat of emotion, its consequences can be disastrous.
The Kalguru knew that Amber was a person who thought from the heart, and he took advantage of this weakness.

The result of Amber’s move was that the people of the planet Taro immediately came under the control of a cruel and greedy ruler.
This sentence of the Kalguru — “Whoever comes in the way of this crown will meet the same fate as Prince Amber” — exposes his cruelty and also shows that he has planned to eliminate Amber even when he returns.
The comic’s name ‘Outrage’ does not just reflect the anger of the hero, but also the social anger that arises against injustice and betrayal. Amber’s angry direction may be wrong, but his feeling is right — he wants justice, he just chooses the wrong path.

Conclusion and Place in Indian Comics

(Conclusion and Place in Indian Comics)

‘Outrage’ is a deep, emotion-filled, and thought-provoking story from Manoj Comics.
The trio of writer Tilak and artists Dilip Kadam and Jaiprakash Jagtap together brought such a comic which is not limited to just war or action but also has the depth of politics, conspiracy, relationships, and emotions within it.
The real message of this story is that “outrage is a double-edged sword” — it motivates man to take action, but if there is no logic and understanding in it, then this anger can also lead man on the path of destruction.
Mahabali Amber’s anger over his love for his father ultimately leads to his downfall.
‘Outrage’ holds a special place in the history of Indian comics because it doesn’t just entertain — it makes one think.
It raises the question: what is right and what is wrong, and can emotions always show the right direction?
This comic introduces Indian readers to the brilliant combination of space opera and emotional thriller of that period. Even today, “Outrage” symbolizes the creativity and emotional depth of that era — a story that every comic lover must read.
