Presents this detailed review on ‘Falcon Attack’ (Baaz Ka Hamla), the third episode of Tulsi Comics’ famous “Falcon” series. The issue is not only full of action and adventure, but also takes the series’ story to a turning point where science and superpowers (supernatural) come together to strike a decisive blow against evil.

Prelude: Development of the Baz Series

Tulsi Comics has given many memorable heroes to the Indian comics world, but the identity of ‘Baz’ (Baaz) has been different. The pair of writer Parshuram Sharma and painter Vikas–Pankaj coined a hero who was initially a professional killer, but luck makes him a lookalike of the ‘Ghost Prince’. In the last two digits—‘Hawk Terror’ and ‘Hawk and Hawk’—we saw how the hero got powers and how he encountered the real Prince Hawk.

The presented issue “Falcon Attack” (issue number 510) is the next and even more exciting chapter of the same story. There was a period when comics were not just entertainment, but the door to a whole new world of imagination for children.

Detailed Analysis of the Plot

The story begins where Supremo (Sheikh Gulfam), the leader of the organization ‘Black Tiger’, is furious over his defeat and insult. ‘The devastation that the falcon wreaked on Salam Islet’ shook the foundations of Supremo’s entire empire.

New villain rising: ‘Current’

Supremo understands that it is impossible to defeat the hawk with common weapons. He plays his most dangerous card—‘Current’—in the field. Current is such a villain whose body carries the full force of 36,000 volts of electricity. His appearance is extremely scary—green hood, mask on his face, and a skull scar on his chest. He can not only deliver strong electric shocks, but also has the power to melt even steel. He is accompanied by his own ‘electric force’, which includes henchmen with 440 and 660 volts.

Guerrilla warfare at sea:

Baz, i.e., Dev, rides his motorboat and moves towards Supremo’s headquarters. Here the action reaches its peak. Supremo’s marine forces attack the falcon from all sides. Meanwhile, the hawk shows another specialty of his magical costume—he can not only deflect bullets, but he also has a very deadly weapon like the ‘Hawk Chakr’ (Baz Chakra). The hawk jumping from boat to boat amid the bouncing waves of the ocean sounds like a scene from a Hollywood action movie.

‘Black Hill’ intrusion into headquarters:

With his wisdom and cunning, the hawk dodges the sea army and, under the cover of darkness, reaches ‘Black Hill’. He enters through the third-floor window, climbing the straight walls. Dev’s aim is not only to eliminate Supremo, but also to acquire records and microfilms related to the dark exploits of the organization, so that this network of terrorism can be rooted out.

Falcon vs Current: The Great Battle

The most explosive part of the comic comes when the hawk and Current come face to face. Strong electric shocks from Current knock the hawk down. Current thinks he has won and tries to take off the falcon’s magic costume. That’s when a major reversal (twist) comes to light in the story. The one that Current was fighting turns out to be not the real Dev, but a ‘dummy’ (Dummy).

Return of Phantom Prince Falcon and ‘Moonwalk’

The real miracle happens when ‘Phantom Prince Baz’ (Ghost Prince) himself appears. Here the author has added a funny and interesting reference to the famous pop star of that period, Michael Jackson. The Phantom Prince hangs upside down from the ceiling, doing ‘break dance’ and ‘moonwalk’, which even freaks out a mighty villain like Current. This scene not only enhances the entertainment, but also shows that the powers of the ghost world can, at times, overshadow science.

Kabaddi and destruction:

Prince Falcon plays a game of ‘kabaddi’ with him to tire Current. Eventually, Current loses his balance and falls into a deep gorge. During this time, the real hero has completed his mission. He breaks the organization’s coffers, acquires the necessary records, and destroys the entire headquarters by bombing it. The story ends with ‘Salam Islet’ completely devastated and the falcon’s spectacular victory.

Valuation of Characters

Dev (Baz): Dev is a hero who keeps full focus on the mission. He does not boast of his strengths, but uses them wisely and with the right strategy. In this issue, his art of spying and quietly entering enemy territory is clearly visible, which also brings out his mental game.

Phantom Prince Falcon: This character is a funny combination of both humor and mysterious power in the story. It is difficult to guess what his behavior will be at any given moment. He defeats the enemy by making fun of him, and this style is very much liked by the readers. His presence makes every serious scene entertaining.

Current: Current is a very powerful and fear-inducing villain, shown like a moving ‘power station’. He may be very strong physically, but he cannot stand up to the elusive and mysterious powers of the Prince Falcon and gradually proves weak.

Supremo: The character of Supremo seems to reach the peak of his frustration in this issue. He is not able to accept repeated defeats, and this is becoming his biggest weakness. His restlessness also makes him more dangerous than before.

Portrayal and Art Side

Vikas–Pankaj’s drawings are the real strength of this comic. He has put the rain of bullets, lightning, and tremendous explosions on paper in such a lively manner that every scene feels like a moving moment. Using words like ‘dhadam’, ‘boom’, and ‘tadak’ in the right places multiplies the impact of the scenes and makes the reader feel right in the middle of the story. Talking about colors, the green and gold form of Current looks very impressive against the blue and gray costume of the hawk. The yellow and red colors used specifically to depict electricity look quite new and attractive for that period. At the same time, the Ghost Prince appearing in skeletal form and dancing on the ceiling is a great example of the imagination and creative thinking of the artists.

Dialogue and Screenplay

Parshuram Sharma has kept the dialogues short, direct, and effective. While Current’s dialogues show his arrogance and pride, a voice of confidence and justice is clearly heard in Baz’s dialogues. In one scene, when Current tries to remove the hawk’s costume, the dialogues create tremendous curiosity among the readers. The kabaddi scene adds a desi flavor to the story, due to which the reader feels more connected to it.

Critical Comment: Science vs. Parashakti

The biggest feature of this comic is that it creates a strong balance between technology and magic. On one side is Supremo, who relies on modern weapons, marine forces, and creations such as an ‘electric human’ like Current. On the other side is Dev, who has a magical attire associated with the ghost world and the companionship of a Ghost Prince.

This conflict sends a clear message that no matter how modern evil becomes, it cannot stand for long against truth and strong intentions. The falcon’s attack was not just with weapons, but a direct blow to the pride and confidence of an entire criminal empire.

Some Unique Aspects

The impact of global pop culture of that time on Indian comics of the 90s is clearly visible in this issue. Elements like the mention of Michael Jackson and ‘break dance’ would have been nothing less than a big surprise for the children of that era. Twists like the arrival of a dummy hawk and the defeat of Current at the story level make it even more enjoyable, keeping the reader engrossed in the search for the real hero until the last page. The comic is also outstanding in terms of action, with sea battles, air strikes, head-on confrontations, and ultimately massive explosions—everything that gives the reader a complete adventure ride.

Conclusion

“Falcon Attack” is not just a comic, but the turning point of the Falcon series where the hero emerges with his full strength and identity. This moment proves that Dev has now become a complete ‘Falcon’, capable of challenging any major terrorist organization in the world.

This creation of Tulsi Comics still refreshes old memories. Its fast-paced story, powerful illustrations, and exciting climax make it a memorable masterpiece. If you have read the last two issues, then this comic is nothing less than an essential experience for you. It leaves us with tremendous eagerness for the next issue, “Falcon’s Tehelka” (Baz Ka Tehelka).

Rating: 4.9/5
It is an indispensable gem (must-read gem) for Indian comics lovers. It reminds us of that innocent period when our greatest hero could fly through the air wearing a magical costume and put an end to evil.

90s pop culture influence and classic Indian comic-book action. Falcon Attack is one of the most iconic Tulsi Comics issues that perfectly blends high-voltage villains Ghost Prince mystery sea battles
