Nagraj Elan-e-Jung Review: Afghanistan Mission, Cinemato Battle & the Bharti Twist
Nagraj’s dangerous Afghanistan mission in Elan-e-Jung brings terrorism, supernatural powers, and shocking betrayals into one epic Raj Comics thriller.

‘Elan-e-Jung’ starts with the same exciting twist where the previous comics ‘Kundali’ ended. Now not just a criminal but an international terrorist organization stands in front of Nagraj. Bharti has been kidnapped, and Vedacharya (Bharti’s grandfather) is mentally broken. This story shows the combination of personal revenge and patriotism of Nagraj. The reader’s first question arises: will a superhero be able to succeed in that difficult mountainous area where even the modern army gives up?

The havoc of ‘Cinemato’: the enemy who makes everything ‘negative’!

A new and unique danger comes to the metropolis—Cinemato. The specialty of Raj Comics has been that they give very different and creative powers to the villains. Cinemato has ‘negative energy’. Everything he touches becomes black and ruined like a photo. The scenes of the battle between Nagraj and Cinemato are spectacular. When Nagraj’s serpent-rope (Snake Rope) also starts breaking down due to negative energy, the reader’s heartbeats become faster. This part adds a fun touch of ‘high-tech action’ to the comics.

Dr. Polka’s change of heart: friend or snake in the sleeve?

Previous story villain Dr. Polka is with Nagraj this time. She says she wants her lab back and wants revenge on Maftoon Shah Pathan. But can he be trusted? Polka’s character maintains suspense throughout the story. His visit to Afghanistan with Nagraj and provision of technical support makes the story feel like ‘Mission Impossible’.

Afghanistan Mission: ‘Death Match’ in Kandahar Hills!

When Nagraj and Polka reach Kandahar, Afghanistan, the atmosphere of the story changes completely. The high-rise buildings of the metropolis are now replaced by dry mountains and narrow caves. Here, Nagraj faces Maftoon Shah Pathan. Maftoon is not just a terrorist; he also has magical powers like the ‘Satanic Eye’ (Evil Eye). This part is a great example of an ‘International Thriller’ in Indian superhero stories.

Bloody game of ‘Buzkashi’: When Nagraj was made a victim!

The most painful and hair-raising part of this comic is the game of ‘Buzkashi’ (Buzkashi). In this Afghan game, players riding on horses snatch dead sheep, but Maftoon Shah turns Nagraj into a ‘sheep’. Nagraj is stripped of his powers by having a ‘titanium collar’ tied around his neck and is crushed under the feet of horses. The scene evokes in the reader a deep hatred for terrorists and sympathy for Nagraj. Anupam Sinha has shown the violence and determination of the hero very well in these scenes.

Rise of the Dead Soldiers: When Maftoon called ‘zombies’ from the graves!

Maftoon Shah, with his ‘Satanic Eye’, brings out from the graves the dead American soldiers he killed earlier. Nagraj’s fight against these ‘dead soldiers’ or zombies is very scary. Nagraj understands that physical strength will not affect them. Burial of zombies inside his cave and the lowering of mountains is the ultimate display of Nagraj’s ‘Giant’ (Giant) power.

Stone protectors and ancient sculptures: Nagraj vs lifeless stone!

At the end of the story, Nagraj reaches an ancient temple or place of worship where he has to face huge stone statues like a hill. These sculptures come alive with the power of the moth. Nagraj’s wisdom comes in handy here. He destroys these idols by colliding with them. This part is a great mix of fantasy and adventure, reminiscent of Hollywood’s ‘Mummy’ (The Mummy) films.

Anupam Sinha’s Art: A cinematic experience on every page!

Anupam Sinha has given the best performance of his art in this comic. The dusty deserts and high mountains of Afghanistan look so real that you can feel the heat there. When Nagraj comes in his huge form, the depiction of his muscles and detailing is amazing. His restlessness for Bharti and the cruelty of terrorists are clearly visible in his face and expressions.

Suspense of Saudangi and fake Bharti: Another deep deception!

There is a big twist at the end of the story. The Bharti that Nagraj risked his life to save was not the real Bharti! She was Saudangi, who had come posing as an impersonator to trap Nagraj. This twist shocks the reader. The real Bharti is still imprisoned near the ‘Supreme Head’. This ending forces the reader to read the next comic.

A strong attack on terrorism: a social message!

Although it is a superhero comic, it shows the horrors of terrorism and its impact on innocent people very seriously. Nagraj’s mission is not just to save one person, but to destroy the enemies of humanity. This comic is a story of heroism, sacrifice, and never-ending hope.

Conclusion: Why is ‘Elan-e-Jung’ a cult classic?

‘Elan-e-Jung’ is not just a sequel; it is an important milestone in the character development of Nagraj. It introduces us to a hero who does not give up even in difficult situations. If you are fond of thriller, action, and suspense, then this comic is a masterpiece for you.
