“Yugandhar and Kakha” are the writers of this comic, Tikaram Sippy, while the responsibility for its illustrations has been taken over by Vijay Kadam and Neeta Borade. Yugandhar, the hero of this story, is a character who is known not only for his physical strength but also for his strong morality and deep intelligence. In every situation, he understands the difference between right and wrong and takes decisions accordingly.

Plot expansion: Flame of Vengeance

The story begins with a deeply sinister and stern vow. The demon king Kakha, who is the brother of Durdanta, the former ruler of the demon city, vows to avenge his brother’s death. The end of the misery was at the hands of Yugandhar, and Kakha puts the same severed head in front of him and takes an oath that he will not find peace until he fills his Guru’s kamandal with Yugandhar’s blood. This pledge clearly shows the fire of revenge burning inside Kakha.

Along with the story, we are also introduced to the demon girl Khubi. Khubi is not just beautiful, but equally cruel, cunning, and selfish. She can go to any extent for her power and entertainment. She traps hunters in a dangerous game, where the loser receives a direct death sentence. When Khubi and Kakha come together, the villains’ strength increases even more.

On the other hand, Yugandhar is preparing to go to the ashram for the first Shraddha of his Guru Mahaguru. Meanwhile, a demonic robber named Tadipar starts spreading terror in Yugantpuri along with his associates, Tadibaz and Tadichor. Yugandhar confronts and defeats him, but this is where the series of conspiracies and deceptions begins in his life.

A web of conspiracy and confusion

The most exciting and shocking turn in the story comes when Yugandhar is fraudulently called on the pretext of his sister Tara’s swayamvar. Here Khubi uses her magical powers and the art of shape-shifting. She takes the form of Tara and confuses Yugandhar. This is a very emotional and stressful scene in the comic, where Yugandhar starts feeling that his own sister wants to marry him. This mental trauma breaks him to the core.

After this, the murder of Raja Sharif Singh and the events related to it further speed up the pace of the story. Yugandhar is convicted and declared ‘stigmatized’. This accusation plunges him into deep self-guilt and anguish. But when the truth comes out, his suppressed anger erupts like a volcano, and the story ahead moves toward a new, even sharper turn.

In-depth analysis of the characters

Yugandhar:
Yugandhar comes across as an ideal hero. His greatest strength is certainly his ‘infallible chariot’, but in reality, his real strength is his character and his thinking. When he sees Kakha and Khubi in a comatose state, he does not attack them, because for him it is cowardice to kill an unarmed and unconscious enemy. This scene gives Yugandhar a distinct identity from common heroes and establishes him as a moral warrior.

Kakha:
Kakha is a symbol of pure physical strength. His entire character has become blinded by the feeling of revenge. He becomes just a means to follow the instructions of his Gurus, Ekahath and Ekatang. Even though he himself doesn’t think much, his mace blows are extremely deadly, making him a dangerous opponent.

Khubi:
Khubi is the most interesting and clever villain of this comic. He has a dangerous weapon like the ‘Killer Mirror’, which turns the sun’s rays into a killer laser. His cunning, his pride, and excessive confidence in himself ultimately lead to his defeat.

Ekahath and Ekatang:
Ekahath and Ekatang are the real ‘masterminds’ of this story. They themselves are physically disabled, but full of tantric and mental powers. Instead of fighting directly, they conspire to destroy Yugandhar by advancing their disciples—Kakha and Khubi.

Art and portraiture

Vijay Kadam and Neeta Borade’s drawings of ‘Yugandhar’ create a great visual experience. The special identity of the ’90s—bright colors and fine backgrounds—seems clear here. The infallible chariot design makes it look like a dangerous war machine, not just a simple vehicle. Its pointed weapons make its aggressive form more effective.

The facial expressions of the characters are so lively that the shock and surprise seen on Yugandhar’s face completely convey his mental condition to the reader. The use of sound words such as ‘dhamm’, ‘tanac’, and ‘mule’ in battle scenes doubles the thrill of the action.

Dialogue and script

Tikaram Sippy’s script is tight. The balance of bravery and drama is clearly visible in the dialogues. For example, this dialogue of Yugandhar—
“Tara, you have blackened the sacred relationship between sister and brother by trying to garland me! The punishment for this is your death!”

This clearly shows that morality and decorum are supreme for Yugandhar.
The villains’ dialogues also reflect their pride and confidence well. Khubi’s trust in his Killer Mirror and Kakha’s roar maintain constant tension in the story.

Highlights: Magical weapons and techniques

‘Yugandhar’ — the combination of science and imagination — gives a different thrill to the story. The idea of the Killer Mirror is actually a creative form of ancient laser technology, where the sun’s rays are concentrated and converted into destructive energy.

The execution machine shown at the end of the story makes readers’ hearts race with its sinister imagery. The thought of that sharp plough attached to a spring, which can tear the chest as soon as a rope is cut, creates tremendous suspense in the climax.

Moral side and message

“Yugandhar and Kakha” is not just an action story, but it also raises difficult questions related to morality.

Should justice be done to the enemy also? Yugandhar answers this with a ‘yes’.
Is it right to go to any extent for vengeance? The character of Kakha explains that this path leads to destruction.

The end of the story teaches that no matter how clever evil is, the one who protects righteousness and truth wins in the end.

Climax of the story

The final battle takes place in Mahaguru’s ashram, which is extremely important symbolically. From where the fire of revenge broke out, there also comes its end. Khubi being killed because of his own Killer Mirror and Kakha dying under a stone completely prove the saying, “as you sow, so shall you reap.” Yugandhar saving his friends Shail and Charu and finally moving forward riding on his infallible chariot gives a satisfying ending to the story.
