One of the most successful and memorable series of Tulsi Comics has been ‘Tausi’. Tausi is a wish-fulfilling snake who, despite being a resident of Hades, lives on Earth and works for the great scientist Kalachakra. In previous issues, we have seen Tausi confront demons, occultists, and dangerous enemies, but the trap of “Tausi and the Nymph’s Net (Tausi Aur Apsara Ka Jaal)” brings him to a point where his biggest weakness—his dead girlfriend, the nymph—stands before him herself. This issue is not limited to just powerful action, but it also has tremendous psychological suspense (psychological sense), which keeps the reader engaged till the last page.

Detailed description of the story

Tausi’s new life and cycle:
The story begins with Tausi’s current life. Now Tausi lives on ‘Tausi Island’, where the scientific genius Kalachakra has trained him in different languages, modern fighting methods, and dangerous weapons. Kalachakra has also secured an important government post for Tausi. Here, Tausi has gradually become a strong protector and warrior, but the memories of his dead girlfriend, Apsara, are still alive in his heart and keep troubling him from within.

Mysterious arrival of the Apsara:
One night, on the outer highway of Sundergarh, Seth Govardhan finds a very beautiful girl standing in the middle of the road. When he questions her, she introduces herself as Apsara and says that she has no one in this world. Seth Govardhan is so impressed by her beauty that he brings her to his bungalow. It is from here that the color of glamour and mystery in the story starts deepening. The ‘Miss Sundari’ contest is going to be held in the city, which Kitty has been winning for the last three years. Govardhan also fields Apsara in this competition.

Beauty contest and vengeance:
Kalachakra is also present on the day of the competition. As the nymph comes on stage, Kalachakra is stunned because she looks exactly like Tausi’s dead girlfriend. The result is announced, and the nymph wins the contest, while Kitty loses. Kitty hatches a creepy plot in her jealousy over the defeat. She sends the nymph a gift by hiding a poisonous snake inside a necklace. During the party, the snake bites the nymph, and she falls to the ground.

Supernatural events and Kitty’s death:
The nymph is taken to a room, where she talks about being alone. Kitty thinks the nymph is finished, but just as she is returning to her car, she sees the “spirit” of the nymph behind it. From here, the story takes a terrifying horror twist. The spirit of the nymph begins to pursue Kitty. In fear, Kitty hides inside a telephone booth and calls the police and Kalachakra. But before the police arrive, Kitty dies mysteriously inside the booth.

Police investigation and intervention of Kalachakra:

The next day, big headlines appear in the newspapers—“Nymph’s Spirit Murdered Kitty.” The police arrest the nymph, but she claims that she was in her room the entire night. Kalachakra’s interest in the whole matter increases. He sends his special messenger, ‘Samar’, to the prison and offers the nymph refuge. After this, the nymph mysteriously disappears from the prison and directly reaches Kalachakra’s bungalow, ‘Chakravil’.

Dola Camp and Tausi’s mission:
Meanwhile, Kalachakra sends Tausi on a very dangerous mission. He has to go to ‘Dola Camp’, where a militant organization is plotting to overthrow the country’s power. The head of this organization is an incomplete Tantrik named Dola. Tausi reaches the army cantonment by helicopter and meets Colonel Dogra. Dola’s terror is so intense that even the administration there follows his instructions.

Mahamilan and conspiracy exposed:
Meanwhile, Apsara also reaches Dola Camp with Seth Govardhan. A big fair is organized on Dola’s birthday. Apsara goes to a snake charmer named ‘Sagina’ and subdues him by posing as a Nagrani. During the fair, in the snake charmer’s game, a serpent suddenly takes human form—and she is an Apsara.

Tausi, who is present there in disguise, is completely stunned to see his nymph alive. He jumps into the middle of the game, picks up the nymph, and escapes from there.

Climax and front part:
Tausi and the nymph meet in the forest, where the nymph says that she was suffering a lot without him. But the story does not end here. ‘Nagbaba’, sitting in the underworld, is smiling at his success and says that the “nymph’s soul” was actually a trap created by him. On the other hand, Kalachakra is also filled with anger. This very suspense leaves readers restless for the next issue, “Tausi and the Soul of the Nymph”.

Character illustration

Tausi:
In this issue, Tausi emerges as a character torn between love and duty. His rigorous training and missions make him strong and tough, but the moment he sees the nymph’s face, his emotional side comes to the fore. This confrontation makes his character more human and shows that he is not just a warrior, but also a lover with a heart. This aspect beautifully highlights the human side of Tausi (human side).

Apsara (mysterious):
Apsara is the most complicated and mysterious character in this comic. Is she really a soul, or part of some deep conspiracy? This question runs throughout the story. Her nature appears calm on the outside, but on the inside she is extremely dangerous. In Kitty’s murder scene, her appearance is scary and full of revenge, leaving a deep impression on the reader’s mind.

Kalachakra:
Kalachakra is a character who is neither a complete hero nor a villain. He is a character with a grey shade (grey shade). He is certainly Tausi’s guru, but he has his own interests, plans, and secrets. He wants to keep the nymph under his control so that he can maintain control over Tausi. This manipulation makes him the trickiest mind in the story.

Dola (Tantrik):
Dola is a new but extremely influential villain. His incomplete tantric powers and militant organization pose a major challenge to Tausi. He runs his empire not just with strength, but also with fear and terror.

Drawing and art

Rohit Ninglekar’s artwork is one of the biggest strengths of this comic. He has portrayed the nymph with such delicacy and supernatural beauty that she naturally becomes the center of the entire story. By using blue and purple tones in the telephone booth and the scary scenes inside the car, he has created a deep, mysterious, and chilling atmosphere.

Along with this, he shows good diversity in sequences such as Tausi’s helicopter journey, the army camp scenes, and the snake charmer’s performance. All of this together gives a modern perspective (modern era) to the story, where Tausi is not limited to the tales of Hades but also connects with the reality of present times.

Subject matter and analysis

“Tausi and the Nymph’s Net (Tausi Aur Apsara Ka Jaal)” is a multi-layered story in which the conflict between love and duty is shown in depth. Tausi abandoning his mission and going after the nymph makes it clear that love can sometimes become the greatest strength and sometimes the greatest weakness.

Along with this, the conspiracies of different characters like Kalachakra, Nagbaba, and Dola to use Tausi as a pawn give the story the thrill of a political thriller (political thriller). The most striking aspect is the combination of science and supernatural powers—on one hand, Kalachakra’s modern lab and advanced weapons, and on the other, the soul of Apsara and the miracles of Nagbaba. This blend strengthens the unique identity of Indian comics, where logic and folklore walk hand in hand.

Positive and Negative Sides

Positive:
The story holds from beginning to end, and the suspense deepens with each page.
Tausi’s character finds a new direction, where he emerges not just as a wish-fulfilling snake but also as a trained and responsible agent.
The scene of Kitty’s death is one of the most memorable and scary horror moments in this comic.

Negative:
The story ends on a very large cliffhanger, which makes the reader feel incomplete when the next issue is not immediately available.
Seth Govardhan’s character gets a little buried in the middle of the story and does not receive much detail.

Conclusion

“Tausi and the Nymph’s Net (Tausi Aur Apsara Ka Jaal)” of Tulsi Comics is a brilliant example of the golden age of comics. Writer Rituraj has woven such a web of emotions, mystery, and thrill that the reader is unable to escape it. This story also teaches that sometimes what looks most beautiful can turn out to be the most dangerous trap.

If you like stories full of mystery, romance, and action, then this comic must be in your collection. This is such an important turning point in Tausi’s journey that his story feels incomplete without reading it.
