This is a story of Tulsi Comics’ most unique and powerful superhero, ‘Yosho‘, which takes you to a unique confluence of science, fantasy, and adventure, where death waits at every turn. Yosho and Operation Red Line (Yosho Aur Operation Redline) is not just an action comic, but it is the story of a son’s journey in search of his father, taking him beyond the boundaries of this world.

This review, adorned with Rituraj’s writing and Sanjay Harodkar’s art, will remind you of a period when imagination knew no bounds.

Introduction: The Creepy Secret of the ‘Dead Line’

The story begins in a mysterious part of the Pacific Ocean called the ‘Dead Line’. This is a sea triangle through which no ship or plane that passes ever returns. People consider it to be a natural phenomenon, but there is a truth hidden behind it that can become a threat to the entire human race.

Amidst this danger, King Yosho of the Sun steps forward. Yosho is not just here to save the world, but he also carries a personal pain in his heart. He is looking for his father, ‘Yoddha Raj’, who had mysteriously disappeared around this ‘Dead Line’. Will Yosho find his father? Or will he also become a part of the bloody history of this ‘Red Line’? This is where ‘Operation Red Line’ begins—a mission where the laws of nature change at every step.

Plot: A Strange World and a Game of Gravity

As Yosho’s plane enters the area, a fierce sea vortex pulls it towards itself. His helicopter crashes, and Yosho finds himself in a strange world hidden somewhere underground.

This part of the story is very interesting. Yosho is imprisoned in a room where gravity has been lost. He tries to rest his feet on the ground but bounces and hits the roof. Here, his wisdom and scientific thinking come in handy. He understands that the laws of physics have been weaponized to stop him. He uses the ‘wild heat of the sun’ present inside his body, melts those strong glass walls, and escapes.

Strange Creatures and the Fear of ‘Empress Jelly’

When Yosho gets out of captivity, he encounters the strange protectors of this world—winged flying humans. These creatures want to take Yosho prisoner. Here, Yosho’s brilliant fighting skills are displayed. He not only relies on his physical strength but also on the ‘laser bullets’ that come out of his eyes.

But the real thrill in the story comes when a giant dinosaur-like creature appears. The surprising thing is that the head of this dreaded creature belongs to a beautiful woman, Empress Jelly. This imagination is a great example of the creativity of Tulsi Comics. Jelly is the queen of this mysterious world, ‘Kasama’. She considers Yosho a foreign intruder and hands him over to her scientists.

Laboratory of Death: Yosho’s ‘Post-mortem’?

One of the most spine-chilling scenes in the comic occurs when Yosho is strapped down in a scientific laboratory. Four dwarf scientists—Apa, Dhapa, Kapa, and Shaya—prepare to dissect Yosho’s living body. They intend to slice open his brain, heart, and torso to uncover the secret behind his powers.

Just as the lead scientist, ‘Apa’, applies his saw to Yosho’s chest, Yosho raises his body temperature so high that the surgical instruments melt instantly. For readers, this scene is nothing short of an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Yosho breaks free and wreaks havoc on the entire laboratory using his fire and water powers.

Climax: A Display of Powers and an Incomplete Truth

When Yosho assumes his formidable form, he commands not only fire but also wind and water. He unleashes destruction across the world of Kasma. Queen Jaily is finally forced to yield. Yosho asks her about his father, Yoddha Raj, only to discover that there is no trace of Yoddha Raj in this realm.

Jaily reveals that Yoddha Raj had never even visited this place. Yosho realizes that the quest to find his father is far from over. The story concludes at a point where Yosho leaves the world of Kasma and heads toward his next destination in the depths of the ocean.

5 Thrilling Reasons (Must-Read Factors) That Make This Comic a ‘Must-Read’!

  1. Yosho’s ‘Unique Origin’ and Powers:
Yosho is the son of Yoddha Raj and Shaurya; his name is a combination of theirs. His powers are derived from solar energy, setting him apart from other superheroes. The way he controls his skin muscles and manipulates temperature is depicted in a highly impressive manner.
  2. The Bizarre World of Kasama (World Building):
The world of ‘Kasama’ created by Tulsi Comics in this story is a brilliant example of imagination. Flying humans, four-legged snakes, and dinosaurs with human female faces—all these elements transport the reader to a world unlike anything they have ever seen before.
  3. A Blend of Scientific Suspense and Horror:
The scene depicting the ‘experiment’ performed on Yosho in the lab is quite terrifying. This comic is not merely about action; it is a superb blend of ‘medical horror’ and ‘science fiction’. It offered a novel experience for readers of that era.
  4. ‘Classic’ 90s Artwork:
The way Sanjay Harodkar and his team have illustrated Yosho’s muscular physique and his rage is magnificent. The color palette is vibrant and eye-catching, looking excellent given the printing standards of that time. The scenes showing fire erupting from Yosho’s body are particularly striking.
  5. An Emotional Father-Son Journey:
Beneath all the action and combat lies Yosho’s love for his father. This emotional connection binds the reader to Yosho with every strike and every victory. You realize that he is doing all of this because of a son’s deep longing.

From the Reviewer’s Desk Writing and Dialogue:

Rituraj has maintained a fast-paced narrative. The dialogues are concise yet impactful. Yosho’s warning to his enemies—”Your weapons cannot even scratch my skin”—demonstrates his confidence and commanding persona.

Art and Design:
Yosho’s costume (black and red) and the sun symbol on his chest give him a regal appearance. The designs of the villains and monsters are unique and striking—a hallmark of Tulsi Comics.

Drawbacks:
The story’s ending feels a bit abrupt. The way Jelly gives up so quickly and Yosho leaves the scene could have been fleshed out further. However, since this is part of a series, the pacing seems appropriate for maintaining suspense.

Final Verdict: A Journey with an Ending That Will Win Your Heart!

‘Yosho and Operation Red Line’ is one of those select stories in the history of Indian comics that transports you back to the magical days of childhood. It is a tale of courage, power, and unwavering resolve.

If you want to see a superhero who plays with fire and unleashes a barrage of bullets from his eyes, then this Yosho comic is made for you. Reading it feels just like watching a thrilling adventure movie.

Warning: Entering the ‘Red Line’ is easy, but getting out is something only Yosho can pull off. Are you ready to be a part of this ‘Operation’?
