Raj Comics’ ‘Last’ series is one of those special stories of the Indian comics world that has truly given readers an international-level experience. The first three parts of this series—‘Last Protector’, ‘Earth of Periods’, and ‘Universe Warrior’—prepare a strong foundation, while ‘World Protector’ (The Savior of the World) takes the same story to a logical and extremely exciting turn. The biggest feature of this issue is that here Nagaraj (Nagraj) is seen in a fully active form, and at the same time the root of this entire crisis is also revealed in the history of ‘Brahm-Kan’ (The Divine Particle). The comic does not just stick to action, but also touches on deeper issues such as science, ethics, and the fight for survival.

Plot expansion: The opening of layers of the past

The story of this issue can be broadly divided into two important periods—on the one hand, the fierce war of the present, and on the other hand, the scientific experiments that took place in the past, which laid the foundation of this entire devastation.

Entry of Nagraj and current conflict
The story continues from where Nagraj’s Nagarsi destroys the attacking craft at the end of ‘Universe Warrior’. Nagraj’s entry proves to be a true ‘game-changer’ for this entire series. The Dhruvs and the Atom, who were on the defensive till now, openly go on the offensive after the arrival of Nagraj. Here, Nitin Mishra has presented the personality of Nagraj in a very impressive and powerful form.

The coordination between Nagraj, Atom, and Dhruva is worth seeing. Atom, whose powers are gradually getting out of his control, feels more balanced and energetic in the presence of Nagraj. The battle with the army of Mactriams in Cape Town becomes one of the most spectacular action sequences of this comic. The way Nagraj uses his snake powers against modern machines completely captivates the readers.

Mystery of the Past: I.S.R.C. Headquarters
The most important part of the comic is that flashback which takes the story back a few months. At the New Delhi–based Indian Space Research Centre (I.S.R.C.), Professor Ibrit Vikral and Professor Kritika show Pole and Atom a wonderful discovery of theirs—the Brahm-Particle (The Divine Particle).

Professor Vikral sees it as a door for mankind that can directly transport human beings from the fifth century to the twenty-fifth century. But Pole and Atom, who have always believed in the balance of nature, raise serious concerns about this discovery. They warn the professor that such major tampering with the laws of nature can even result in destruction. This part gives the story a strong moral question—Is it right to break the laws of the universe in the name of scientific progress?

Divine Council

A link in the story leads us to that mysterious place in space where the Divine Council (Divya Parishad) exists. These are the forces that watch over the entire universe and the balance of the planets. For them, mankind is a criminal that has crossed the limits of taboo. It becomes clear from their dialogues that the ‘transfusion’ happening on Earth is actually a punishment for this violation committed by humans. Meanwhile, Atom and Pole are declared ‘violators of the laws of the universe’.

Anthony and the Prince’s Entry: A New Threat
At the end of the comic, the story suddenly turns in a scary and dark direction. Anthony and Prince are sent to the City of the Dead. There, they encounter strange and creepy creatures from the planet Pipsone. These are not simple zombies, but completely bloodthirsty vampires. These creatures have reached Earth after the sources of blood on their planet were exhausted. Anthony’s calm and composed nature adds a strong horror tinge to the story amid this eerie atmosphere.

In-depth analysis of the characters

Nagraj: He is not just a warrior, but also a true leader. The seriousness visible in his eyes clearly shows that he is not one to silently watch the destruction of the Earth.

Super Commando Dhruv: Here, Dhruv appears in the role of an analyst. Even in flashbacks, he challenges the professor’s blind ambition with his logical thinking. He knows very well that weapons may win battles, but wars are always won with the mind.

Atom: Atom emerges as a tragic hero throughout this series. He became a part of the experiment involving the same Brahm-Particle, the price of which his body is now paying. His struggle to handle unlimited energy is clearly visible in his eyes and facial expressions.

Professor Vikral: He embodies that scientific ego which is willing to go to any extent in the name of ‘evolution’.

Painting and color combination: Dheeraj Verma’s masterclass

Dheeraj Verma’s artwork gives a different global identity to ‘World Protector’. Especially the scene with the half faces of Nagraj and Parmanu on page 4 can be counted among the most memorable and iconic images in the history of Raj Comics. The I.S.R.C. key lab and collider machine are depicted in such minute detail that everything feels completely real. Meanwhile, when Nagraj or Nukes attack in the air, the ‘motion blur’ effect given by Dheeraj Verma delivers an experience that feels not just like a comic, but like an animated film.

Bhakta Ranjan’s coloring has given this issue a special metallic and bright look. The contrast between the lab’s blue light and the dusty yellow tint of the battlefield adds more depth to the story’s atmosphere.

Dialogue and Writing: Nitin Mishra’s grip

The balance with which Nitin Mishra has combined science and fantasy is truly commendable. The dialogues may be short, but their impact is very deep. Sentences like “violation of the laws of the universe” further strengthen the seriousness of the story. The mysterious atmosphere created in the conversation between Anthony and the creatures of Pipsone clearly shows the writing ability and depth of thinking of the author.

Critical Appraisal: What Makes This Part Great?

Positive side:
Ultimately, the readers clearly understand where this entire story started. The concept of ‘Brahm-Kan’ gives a strong foundation to the narrative. At the same time, seeing the trio of Nagraj, Dhruv, and Parmanu working together is like a dream come true for any comics lover. Such a mix of high-tech science, cosmic fantasy, and dark horror in the same comic never lets it become boring.

Downside:
Technical elements like ‘Protocol D-Code’, ‘uncoded symbols’, and ‘charging collider’ may feel a bit difficult for some ordinary readers. Also, the comic ends on a very large suspense, which can leave readers restless for a long time.

Conclusion: ‘World Protector’ – an obligatory collection

This issue of Raj Comics’ ‘Last’ series proves that Indian superhero stories have the full power to compete with any Marvel or DC narratives. ‘World Protector’ is not just a simple gap-filler; it is the calm before the storm that is about to burst in the upcoming parts.

This comic also delivers a deep message—“If the price of power and progress is destruction, then it cannot be called progress.” Here, the heroes are not just fighting aliens, but are also trying to correct the mistake of their own species, which disturbed the balance of the entire universe.

The foundation of the next part, ‘Invisible Conspiracy’, is laid very firmly here. The entry of Anthony and Prince is a clear sign that the threat will no longer be limited to machines alone—bloodthirsty monsters are also going to be a major part of this war.

Final rating: 5/5
