Nagraj has quite a few enemies, some external, and some internal, like Nagpasha. Initially, Nagraj used to confront his societal enemies within their own country and homes, but ever since he turned the metropolis into his home, his enemies started infiltrating the city to get to him. Some are old adversaries, while some are new, like Julu.
Julu was born in a tribe in South Africa. His father was the Ojha of the tribe and a practitioner of tantric rituals. Julu, particularly intrigued by voodoo magic from childhood, specialized in the art of Voodoo. Voodoo is a form of tantra where a person is tormented by creating an enchanted doll. Julu became a voodoo specialist, but before he could practice, his uncle took him to Johannesburg city for better education since he excelled in studies. He was admitted to medical school, and after completing his education, he became a renowned biologist. However, his interest lay in doing something new, so he built his own laboratory to conduct experiments. One of his successful experiments was the creation of Magaraha, a fusion of a human and a crocodile, reminiscent of the DC Comics villain Killer Croc.
Though Magaraha might evoke memories of DC Comics’ Killer Croc, it’s worth noting that Julu’s story takes an interesting turn. After a successful experiment, his confidence grew, and he focused on a project involving reanimating the dead. Unfortunately, he lacked plasma, a crucial element that he couldn’t create. When he learned that plasma was being produced in the metropolis, he headed there and had his first encounter with Nagraj.
Nagraj initially clashed with Magaraha, then with Julu himself. However, before Julu could turn Nagraj into his slave using a voodoo doll made from Nagraj’s hair, Nagraj disrupted his plans with his mystical powers. Despite his defeat, Julu didn’t accept defeat. He returned once, managing to severely injure Nagraj in his dreams. Still, Nagraj’s willpower saved him.
After these events, Julu made a comeback in ‘Nagraj Hai Na!’ and ‘Kyun Hai Nagraj,’ and even faced Dhruv in the ‘Ant’ comics.
