Taking inspiration and copying have a thin line between them. A little mistake can make all the hard work go to waste, whether it’s a film, a product, or a character in a comic.

However, many characters have been created by taking inspiration, enhancing or diminishing their strength, from their name to their abilities. This has become quite common in the world of comics, and the debate between DC Comics and Marvel Comics on characters imitating each other has always been ongoing. This issue has been persistently raised between them, with characters copying each other, and this trend has been going on for years.

Similar allegations have been made against Indian comics, but on closer inspection, some characters have been removed, and the remaining characters are either completely unique or have been created with inspiration. This accusation was also made against a character, Fighter Toads.

Until this point, the creator and writer Anupam Sinha himself acknowledged that these characters are only inspired, with the story and powers being different. He admitted that his mistake was only keeping the number of Fighter Toads at four, just like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. If he had chosen two or three, perhaps the accusation of imitation wouldn’t have been there. Another mistake he made was having them live in a sewer just like the Ninja Turtles.

Speaking of the birth of Fighter Toads, it happened in Swarn Nagri. Swarn Nagri is where the home of Dhruv’s friend Dhananjay, the Super Commando, is located. It was there that Fighter Toads were created, and it happened suddenly. When a ship loaded with poisonous explosives sank near Swarn Nagri, the entire water turned toxic, resulting in the death of many Swarn Nagri residents who went out for a walk. The entire area was surrounded by the corpses of marine creatures.

When Dhananjay investigated, he found no human remains in the sunken ship. He realized that it was deliberately sunk. He traced the owner of that ship, Green Mamba. To find Green Mamba himself, Dhananjay had to meet several humans, but the rules there did not permit it. However, someone had to be sent after Green Mamba, and the scientist Shilpatri found the solution. She selected four small toads and transformed them into humanoid beings using her extraordinary scientific knowledge and radiations. She tried to fill their minds with martial arts and knowledge, but time was short. Therefore, she only gave them a little knowledge about masters and computers. She also erased the knowledge of Swarn Nagri from their minds so that they couldn’t reveal anything about the place. And that’s how the journey of Fighter Toads began.

Cutter, Shooter, Master, and Computer – these four call themselves Fighter Toads. As mentioned earlier, their story is quite different from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Fighter Toads are of a comical, mischievous, and foolish nature, and their innocence forces people to laugh. The first version of Fighter Toads came with the same name and had a larger comic size. However, later it started coming in the regular comic size like other comics.

Fighter Toads have been featured in multi-starrer comics with several superheroes later on. However, their comic series has stopped, and the reason behind it is unknown.
