Manoj Comics’ special edition “Yugandhar” refreshes the memories of the 90s. At that time, comics were not just books, but an important part of the world of children and youth. Reading comics and getting lost in them after returning from school was the greatest joy of that era. Today, while returning to those memories, we will review the “Yugandhar” comics.

    Title and Cover Page

The name of this comic itself is very powerful – “Yugandhar”. From the name itself, it is clear that this is a story of a hero who has come to take the responsibility of an entire era.

On the cover page, Yugandhar is seen riding a chariot, with iron nails in its wheels. Swords in hand and the atmosphere of war is clearly visible. The form of the horse is also not ordinary, but there is a hint of special power. Just by looking at the cover, it is understood that the story is filled with war, strength, and excitement.

Story’s beginning – Earth divided into three parts

In the story, the Earth is divided into three parts. Demons’ part – Their king’s name is Hinsak (Violent). Demon city – ruled by Durdant (Uncontrollable). Humans’ region – which is divided into small kingdoms.

Demons and demons have their own gurus – Demons’ guru is Ektang and demons’ guru is Ekhath. Both consider their disciples to be the best and want their disciple to rule the entire Earth.

Conflict’s reason – Princess Shail Shabili

In the story, the princess of Pampapura, Shail Shabili, becomes the cause of conflict. Both warriors, Hinsak and Durdant, want to marry her. Their gurus also believe that their disciple will win in this swayamvar. This is where the competition and confrontation between the two sides begins.

    Penance and power acquisition

Both warriors reach the Himalayas to perform penance to Lord Shiva. After severe penance, Lord Shiva appears before them and grants them powers, but with one condition –

Hinsak can use his power only on demons. Durdant can use his power only on demons. Thus, humans are out of their direct target.

    Brother-Sister War

Where the guru and disciple are engaged in gaining power, their brothers and sisters start a war behind their backs. Durdant’s sister Surasa kills many demons. Hinsak’s brother Asurbhan vows that he will kill more demons. Thus, a fierce war begins on both sides, and the earth and sky tremble.

    Arrival of the Mahaguru

When the war is at its peak, the Mahaguru enters, who is the guru of both the one-legged and one-handed. He explains to them that there will be no benefit from mutual conflict, the real danger is somewhere else. But both gurus remain adamant on their own stubbornness. Finally, the Mahaguru gets Surasa and Asurbhan married to calm them down.

New Weapons and the Birth of Yugandhar

After this, a bigger turn comes in the story. Hinsak’s guru Ektang provides him with a special chariot, where anyone who sits becomes his friend.Durdant’s guru Ekhath gives him a headless torso, on which anyone’s head can be placed to make him a powerful warrior.

Durdant cuts off a prince’s head and places it on that torso. This prince later becomes known as Yugandhar.

War and the Rise of Yugandhar

After this, a great war begins between the two armies. Yugandhar impresses everyone with his valor and courage. He alone becomes too much for the entire demon army.

In the end, Yugandhar and Hinsak face each other. In the war, Hinsak falls from his chariot, and Yugandhar sits on it. The chariot’s magic takes effect on him, and he remembers his true identity – that he was born to end the injustice of both demons and giants.

This part of the comic ends here, leaving the readers curious about what will happen next.

    Art and Dialogue

The illustration of the comics has been done by Vijay Kadam and Neeta Borade. The expressions of the characters, scenes of war, and extraordinary weapons have been depicted with great precision. The color composition also brings the atmosphere of the story to life.

The dialogue writer ‘Rahi’ ji has written the dialogues, which clearly bring out the emotions and depth of the characters. Sometimes revenge is glimpsed, and sometimes the story expands through the discussion of guru-disciple.

    Conclusion

“Yugandhar” is not just a comic, but a priceless heritage of that era. It includes all aspects of war, power, love, revenge, and ideals. It also teaches us that when injustice and oppression increase, a hero is born who establishes balance.

In today’s time, where children’s attention is on mobile and digital games, comics like “Yugandhar” remind us of an era when imagination and courage were the biggest entertainment. If you find this comic somewhere, do read it. It is not just a story, but an experience of the past and a childhood memory.
