Tiranga, whose real name is Abhay Deshpande, is not just a superhero but a living symbol of India’s pride, glory, and honor. His dress is adorned with the three colors of the Indian flag, and his shield called ‘Suraksha-Chakra’ is the terror for enemies.
Arrest Him is the second and last part of Nakalchi(Copycat) comics, and we are going to review this same comics. Written by Hanif Azhar, and Dilip Choubey has also written its second part. The comics create a deep question and curiosity in the mind of the reader with its title itself. Why is the hero, who is himself the protector of justice and law, being arrested? This comics weaves a complex and exciting story of the dichotomy of patriotism, betrayal, corruption, and justice versus vengeance.

Detailed analysis of the plot

The story begins with a scene that shakes any Tiranga fan. When the security circle of Tiranga shines in the sky of Delhi, it is a symbol of justice. But here the guardian of justice himself is being held in the chains of law. The police are arresting him, and Tiranga has expressions of surprise and anguish on his face. This dramatic opening immediately binds the reader to the story.

Soon the secret is revealed that a vicious criminal named ‘Nakalchi’ is behind this conspiracy. As the name suggests, the imitator is adept at imitating anyone’s voice exactly. He attacked the Police Commissioner by disguising himself as Tiranga and imitating his voice, making Tiranga a criminal in the eyes of the police and the law. The aim of the copycat is not just to trap Tiranga, but it is part of a bigger plan. His real enemy is the traitorous and corrupt Chief Minister (C.M.) who had murdered his father, Rakesh Dangi. Copycat’s father was the P.A. of the C.M. and had a diary in which all the dark deeds of the C.M. were recorded. The copycat’s goal is now twofold – to avenge his father’s death and, by finding that diary, to expose the C.M.

The second aspect of the story shows the trust within law and order. The Police Commissioner, who was attacked, has unwavering faith in the character and patriotism of Tiranga. He knows that the Tiranga can never raise his hand against him. On the basis of this belief, he releases Tiranga, so that he can prove his innocence by catching the real culprit. This is a turning point in the plot, establishing Tiranga as a seeker of justice rather than a fugitive.

Now Tiranga sets out in search of the Nakalchi(Copycat), and the Nakalchi(Copycat) takes his plan to the next level. He finds out that the C.M. has given a betel nut contract to a mafia don named Gawli for his murder. The copycat is searching for a diary in his house when Gawli’s goons attack him. Here there is another twist in the story when Tiranga comes like an angel and saves the copycat, although the copycat cannot recognize him and runs away.

After this, the copycat makes a very clever plan. The C.M. creates a drama of kidnapping Sudesh’s son. By experimenting with the art of changing his voice, he gathers the C.M., Sudesh, and Gawli in an old ruin. His aim was to kill many birds with a single arrow. There is a tremendous conflict here. Amidst the hail of bullets, Tiranga once again follows his hero dharma. He knows that the C.M. is a traitor, yet he saves him from Gawli’s goons, as his principle is not to take the law into his own hands, but to protect it.

The climax of the story comes as the copycat makes his final move. He calls the C.M. in the voice of his deceased father Rakesh Dangi and makes him believe that the diary is hidden in Dangi’s grave. The C.M. reaches there out of greed. Tiranga also follows the copycat to the graveyard. There once again a conflict occurs between the two. During the fight, Tiranga finds a key from the dead body of a goon, which has a special mark on it.

This key takes Tiranga to an old temple. He comes to believe that the diary is hidden somewhere in this temple. He searches the temple lockers and donation boxes and eventually finds the much-awaited diary in a donation box. But as soon as he gets success, the copycat appears there. He reveals that it was all his plan. He knew that Tiranga was a better spy than him and only he could find the diary. He used the Tiranga only as a pawn. He creates an illusion by using the loud sound of the temple bells and runs away with the diary, dazzling Tiranga and the police.

The comics end on a spectacular cliffhanger. The copycat is absconding with the diary, and his intention is not just the C.M., but to expose every corrupt leader of the country. Tiranga once again remains framed, and the reader is forced to think about what will happen next.

Characterization

The strongest aspect of the Arrest Him comics is the deep portrayal of its characters, where Tiranga is not just a powerful warrior, but an idealistic hero with a strong belief in law and justice, who becomes great because of his espionage abilities and his loyalty to principles. At the same time, the villainous imitator is also not an ordinary criminal; due to the emotional reason of taking revenge for his father’s murder, the reader starts feeling sympathy towards him. His unique power of imitating voices is used very creatively in the story, and though he may be physically weak, he gives a tough fight to Tiranga in mind games. Furthermore, characters like the Chief Minister and Gawli depict the nexus of corruption and crime prevalent in society. Dilip Choubey’s art and illustrations make these comics even more impressive. His art is dynamic and full of energy, with the characters’ facial expressions and action scenes perfectly depicted, making the story seem even more lively. The colors are used according to the mood of the story, darker in tense scenes and brighter in the hero’s scenes.

Art and Portraiture

Dilip Choubey’s art is reminiscent of that classic era of Raj Comics. The painting is dynamic and full of energy. The action scenes are depicted very effectively, be it Tiranga fighting with goons or the shootings in the ruins. The facial expressions of the characters, especially the crooked expressions of the imitator and the tenacity of Tiranga, make the story even more alive. The colors are used according to the mood of the story – the use of dark colors in tense scenes, while bright colors in the hero’s scenes.

Conclusion

Tiranga – Arrest Him is not just a comic, but an excellent thriller. Its story is tight, with a new twist and mystery on every page. This comic makes an important comment on the fine line between justice, duty, and vengeance. It raises the question of whether it is justified to achieve the right objective in the wrong way.

It is one of the most memorable stories in the Tiranga series as it forces the hero to face an unprecedented challenge where he has to fight not only against external enemies but also against the distrust within the system. As a copycat, he finds an opponent who outwits him every step of the way. The cliffhanger ending of the story further whets the reader’s appetite.

Overall, Arrest Him is a great example of the creative peak of Raj Comics, which is equally relevant and entertaining even today. This is a must-read story for every comics lover.
