Shri Gulshan Rai launched Diamond Comics (P) Limited in 1978, which is currently the largest distributor and publisher of comic books in India. The most popular and beloved comic book characters in our country can be found in Diamond Comics, with its headquarters located in Delhi, India.
Diamond Comics was initially established in 1907 under the name of Indian Book Depot in Pakistan. After the partition of India in 1950, it was re-established as the Punjabi Pustak Bhandar. In 1978, Diamond Pocket Books (P) Limited and Diamond Comics (P) Limited were founded. Through the development of original Indian comic characters like Chacha Chaudhary, Billu, Pinki, Motu Patlu, and many others, Diamond Comics provided high-quality entertainment to Indian readers. In addition, the business started publishing international comic books featuring characters like Phantom, Mandrake, Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, He-Man, and James Bond in Hindi.
Apart from comic books, Diamond Books publishes non-fiction works on subjects such as yoga, astrology, crime, and health in various Indian languages. In India, Diamond Comics has the largest distribution network, making its publications available in Hindi, English, and several regional languages in the farthest corners of every Indian state.

Beyond publications, Diamond Comics (P) Limited has also ventured into digitalizing comic books and producing 2D and 3D animations.
Chacha Chaudhary
While Diamond Comics has numerous characters, the most widely adored from children to the elderly is Chacha Chaudhary. Created for the Hindi magazine ‘Lotpot’ in 1971, Chacha Chaudhary quickly gained equal popularity among children and the elderly. The character drew inspiration from the ancient philosopher Chanakya and the elderly individuals in every village who used their experiences to assist and solve problems. According to a Features Press release, Chacha Chaudhary has been recognized as the most identifiable comic book character for 10-13-year-old Indian children.
Sabu
An extraterrestrial from Jupiter named Sabu has always been devoted to Chacha and gives her physical support when she needs it. He is roughly fifteen feet tall, enormous, and very strong.[7] Despite the fact that his size has fluctuated greatly over the comic book storyline. He has the ability to grow larger in certain comics. Similar like Aladdin, he only appears in some other stories when Chacha Chaudhary rubs a lamp. He is just dressed in a pair of gumboots, ear rings, and wrestler’s underwear. However, Sabu was depicted wearing tight-fitting green pants in certain comics.
