Along with Super Commandos Dhruv and Nagaraj, another unique team also made its special place in the sky of ‘Rajanagar’—’Fighter Toads’. In the history of Raj Comics, ‘Toads Action’ is not just a comic, but that height of imagination where a wonderful combination of science, fantasy, and sarcasm on society is seen.

This comic came as the next part of ‘Time Machine’, which broke the boundaries of time and place and took readers on a journey where there was a new and surprising twist on every page. Today, when we remember that period, it is clearly felt that Raj Comics, through Fighter Toads, had conducted an experiment in the world of Indian comics which will always be remembered in the history of ‘mutant’ stories.

This story of four warriors — the Cutter, the Shuler, the Master, and the Computer — who came out of the depths of the gutter and reached the currents of time, becomes an example of courage, struggle, and adventure that seems as interesting today as it was at that time.

The vile face of capitalism and the empire of Ponga Cola

The beginning of the story takes us with ‘Master’ to a world that presents the bitter truth of today’s corporate war and capitalism in a very interesting way. The Master encounters Mr. Sweet, the owner of Ponga Cola, who is willing to fall to any extent for profits.

The kind of imagination that the author has presented here is really shocking. Filtering and using human sweat in the process of making Ponga Cola may have been a fun and strange part for the children of that time, but from the point of view of a critic, it is a direct attack on the very disgusting side of marketism.

Master’s clash with this corrupt system as a mutant and replacing Ponga Cola with the secret behind the ‘Kahar’ brand of cold drinks creates tremendous thrill in the story. The character of Mr. Sweet emerges as a villain whose strengths may not be physical, but whose mind and money make him a major threat to society.

The Master’s wisdom and leadership are clearly visible in this entire part. He does not seem to be just a frog living in a gutter, but comes out as a clever and thoughtful strategist.

Panic of the year 2205: When the police itself became the shield of robbers

A big part of the comic takes us to the future year 2205, where the ‘Computer’ encounters a law system that has completely deteriorated. The police here, dubbed ‘Police 2205’, instead of catching the robbers, give them protection and help them rob the general public.

The character of Inspector ‘Corrupt’ shows a scary picture of a future where there is no place left for honesty and morality. The Computer, disguised as a police commander, entering this system and confronting criminals becomes a great example of futuristic action.

The ‘Cyborg’ characters shown in this part, i.e., half human and half machine, also show the distant thinking of Raj Comics. At a time when technology was still slowly growing in India, Raj Comics had introduced its readers to the dangers of artificial intelligence and machine parts.

The rocket booster on the back of the Computer and the bullets coming out of his arms make the action scenes of that time even more exciting. All these scenes take the comics of that period to a different level.

Dreaded Virus Timbak-Too: A horrifying scene of mind capture

The biggest and scariest part of this entire comic is ‘Virus Timbuk-Two’. This digital virus created by scientist Shatram infects not only computers but also the biological brains of the Fighter Toads.

The virus acts like an invisible villain, with the power to confront the heroes and make them slaves of Shatram. When we see Shuler in the Mahabharata period and Cutter in the primitive era under the influence of this virus, the tension of the story reaches its peak.

Shatram’s control over the minds of time-traveling toads through his laptop was a very advanced concept for that time. The virus acts like hypnosis, blurring the heroes’ memories and making them enemies of their own comrades.

This dangerous force of Shatram makes him one of the most cunning villains of Raj Comics, as he attacks with his mind instead of strength.

Dilip Choubey’s magical brush: thrill speaking in every frame

The contribution of Raj Comics’ artists to its success has always been special, and the magic shown by Dilip Choubey’s magical brush in ‘Toads Action’ still looks impressive. The intricately carved mutant body structure of Fighter Toads by Dilip Choubey is truly worthy of praise.

From the glitter of the Cutter’s sword to the string of the Pronger’s bow, there is a vibrancy in everything. The illustration of future cities, particularly of the year 2205 — where tall buildings and flying carriages are seen — transports the reader to a different world.

The way he has put on paper the intricate pipeline mesh of Ponga Cola’s factory and the dark but exciting atmosphere of the gutter shows the depth of his art.

The use of colors also captures the atmosphere of the story well. While the present scenes have bright and vibrant colors, the future scenes are given a light metallic luster, giving the feel of an era full of technology.

Dilip Choubey has also shown the facial expressions of the characters in a very brilliant manner. Especially when seeing the Master’s cunningness and Shatram’s crooked smile, the meaning of the story is understood even without reading the dialogue.

The dark conspiracy of Shatram and the scientific counterattack of Atram

The climax of the story focuses on the ideological and technological confrontation between scientist Atram and his brother Shatram. Shatram, who is full of jealousy and hatred, wants to use his brother’s invention, the ‘Time Machine’, to spread havoc in the world. He not only kidnaps the Toads, but also tries to destroy their existence.

But scientist Atram’s patience and understanding ultimately prevail. The technical operation performed by Atram to remove the Virus Timbak-Too from the Toads’ minds becomes breathtaking. This part takes the story to the height of adventure, and the reader remains curious every moment to know whether the Toads will be able to regain their consciousness again.

The character of Baby Doll does not just remain a helper here, but she emerges as Atram’s courage and strength. Being with him makes Atram’s confidence look stronger.

Finally, when the four Toads regain their consciousness and surround Shatram’s ‘mobile home’, that scene becomes a strong symbol of the victory of justice. The defeat of Shatram is not just the defeat of an individual, but it is also the defeat of negative science that is used against humanity and nature.

Memories of the nineties and the pride of the warriors of the gutter

Reading ‘Toads Action’ today is like returning to that golden era when Raj Comics was an important part of our childhood. That atmosphere of Rajnagar, that unique place under the gutter, where there were stories of desi temperament and not pizza or burgers, still seems fresh in the memories.

Fighter Toads taught us that to be a hero it is not necessary to look beautiful, but your intentions and your bravery matter. These warriors, who make a despised place like the gutter their headquarters, represent the unseen people of society who protect the world even while remaining silent.

That innocence of the nineties, when we thought that maybe such warriors would actually live in the gutter, is the biggest feature of this comic. This comic reminds us of a period when stories were not just entertainment, but they also taught us to distinguish between right and wrong.

Conclusion: A timeless work that needs to be reread

In conclusion, it can be said that ‘Toads Action’ is a diamond in the crown of Raj Comics whose shine has not faded with time. This comic is not limited to action and adventure, but it also brings out the dangers of human thinking, marketism, and the double face of science.

Dilip Choubey’s brilliant artwork and strong story make it a timeless comic. If you are tired of today’s busy life and want to feel those childhood adventures again, then ‘Toads Action’ is a great option for you.

While reading this, you will not just read a story, but you will again descend into the gutters of Rajnagar where a new definition of bravery was written. This comic is important for every reader who loves Indian comics culture.

So pick up that chest of your memories and get lost once again in this memorable and adventurous world of Fighter Toads, because some stories never get old — they just keep waiting to come alive again within us.
