Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the new trailer for “Anaconda”.
It is a remake of the 1997 horror film Anaconda and is considered to be the sixth film in the franchise.
This time the director of the film is Tom Gormican, best known for his film The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.
But the special thing is that this time a funny touch of comedy has been added to the old horror story of Anaconda.
The story revolves around two friends – Griff (Paul Rudd) and Doug (Jack Black). Both of them love the 1997 Anaconda film. In this enthusiasm, they decide to remake their favorite film themselves. But the problem is that they do not have any experience in making films.
Trouble doesn’t end here – the real drama starts when a truly dangerous anaconda reaches their set.
How is the trailer of the film?

At the beginning of the trailer, Doug comes to his friend Griff and gives him a unique idea – to remake his favorite movie Anaconda!
Doug tells Griff that this will be “the greatest adventure of his life”.
The two then bring along their friends Claire (Thandiwe Newton) and Kenny (Steve Zahn). Together, these four try to arrange a budget, script, and even a real snake.
Trouble begins when the snake they brought dies. Now, while trying to find a new snake, they reach the forest, where they collide with a real, huge, and very dangerous anaconda.
After this, the flavor of danger and comedy begins. One scene in the trailer is very funny – the group thinks Doug is dead, and they decide to make him “bait”. Then it is revealed that Doug is alive and badly in danger.
The fun of the trailer is further enhanced when the famous song Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-a-Lot plays in the background – with repeated sounds “My Anaconda don’t…”.
Sony Drops Anaconda Remake Trailer – Horror with a Comedy Bite
The trailer of the new Anaconda remake clearly shows that this film is going to be quite different from other films. There was almost no comedy in earlier Anaconda films, but this time the story has been given a comedy twist.
Yeah, it has action and adventure like the 1997 movie, but more of the focus in the trailer is on Paul Rudd trying to make the movie. It seems that it will take some time for the real snake to appear on screen.
Overall, this time the aim of the film is to make the audience laugh more than scare them. There will definitely be action and horror, but comedy will be the biggest attraction.
Jack Black has also recently said that this film will be more fun than the previous one. According to him, there is fear and horror in it, but the flavor of comedy is so much that the audience will laugh a lot.
Along with Paul Rudd and Jack Black, many other actors will also be seen in the new Anaconda film. Steve Zahn portrays Doug and Griff’s friend Kenny Trent. Thandiwe Newton has become their friend Claire Simmons. Ione Skye will be seen as Doug’s wife, Malley MacCallister. Daniela Melchior is playing the role of Ana Almeida, and Selton Mello will be seen as Santiago Braga. Apart from this, Ben Lawson will also play a special role in this film, but no information has been revealed yet about his character.
If we talk about the old Anaconda film, the original film released in 1997 performed brilliantly at the box office. Made on a budget of around $45 million, the film grossed over $136 million. It was this huge success that turned the film into an entire franchise. This was followed by films such as Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid in 2004, Anaconda 3: Offspring in 2008, and Anacondas: Trail of Blood in 2009. Then in 2015, this franchise took an even more interesting turn when director A.B. Stone landed it in the world of crossovers by creating Lake Placid vs. Anaconda.
5. Lake Placid vs. Anaconda (2015)

This film was the fifth entry in both the Anaconda and Lake Placid series. It was directed by A.B. Stone and written by Berkeley Anderson. In this, some old faces from Lake Placid returned again – Robert Englund (Jim Bickerman) and Yancey Butler (Sheriff Reba).
The story runs through three different groups – the police, a company, and some girls. There are some strange scenes in the film, such as an anaconda grabbing a jeep or a crocodile bursting free from an anaconda’s grip.
But the real problem of the film was that the acting was very bad, the writing was useless, and the CGI looked as if it had been picked up from a low-grade 90s video game.
4. Anacondas: Trail of Blood (2009)

Anacondas: Trail of Blood was the second TV sequel, directed by Don E. Fontleroy.
It sounded a little better than the previous film Anaconda 3 because it made less use of the green screen and the story was a bit stronger. The characters are also shown well, and the acting and writing were a little better than the previous one.
The CGI was still not good, but the good thing was that it was used only on snakes and not on the background. This made the film a little better. On top of that, it also featured Linden Ashby, whom people know from Mortal Kombat (as Johnny Cage) and Teen Wolf (as Sheriff Noah Stilinski). His presence made the film a little more worth watching.
3. Anaconda 3: Offspring (2008)

Anaconda 3: Offspring is said to be the worst film in the series. This was the first TV movie that Don E. Fontleroy directed.
There were big names like David Hasselhoff and John Rhys-Davies in it, but the budget was so low that the shortcomings in every scene were clearly visible. The CGI was very poor, the dialogues were stupid, and the story was also complicated.
Such films generally fall in the “so bad that it’s funny” category, but this one didn’t even fit into that. On Rotten Tomatoes, it got the lowest rating – liked by just 10% of people.
Yes, one thing was a little interesting – in this, the story revolves around a “mutant” snake. It was based on the idea of science and genetic experiments, but the film failed to portray it properly.
2. Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (2004)

The best film in the series is its sequel Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. In this, the story becomes even more engaging, and the conflict between the characters makes it more compelling.
The effects and music of the film were as good as the first film, and in some places even better. It was directed by Dwight H. Little. There were not many big stars in the film, but the story was so powerful that even without big names it felt entertaining.
Despite a lower budget and less famous actors, it turned out to be much better than the other films. Yes, one drawback was Kadee Strickland’s fake Southern accent, which felt strange at times. But still, it is a great sequel and cements its place in the list of monster movies.
For those who love horror movies with snakes, Anaconda and Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid are a must-watch. Whereas Lake Placid vs. Anaconda is just for timepass, and the third and fourth films directly fall into the category of “bad TV films”.
1. Anaconda (1997)

The original Anaconda (1997) is considered the second-best film in the series. It was directed by Luis Llosa and featured big stars like Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voight, and Owen Wilson.
This film was not a big masterpiece, but the story was captivating and the characters were also good. For the 90s, its special effects seemed impressive. Famous voice artist Frank Welker’s voice gave the snake a more realistic touch.
Yes, there were also drawbacks – a straightforward story, some overacting by actors, and music that seemed strange at times.
But despite all this, the film is a fun horror-thriller with the thrill of huge and dangerous snakes. It may not be scientifically accurate, but it entertains the audience completely. The only regret is that it did not receive as much praise as it should have.
