“Ab Marega Parmanu” Offering Sanjay Gupta, Hanif Azhar’s powerful writing, and Manu’s vivid portrayal, this comic is not just a superhero story, but a blend of emotions, conspiracy, action, and tragedy that touches the hearts of the readers. It leaves a deep impression on the mind. Even today, reading this comic years later is an exciting experience that proves why Raj Comics ruled the hearts of millions of fans.

Narrative Essence: A painful saga of conspiracy and vengeance
The story itself begins in a very sensational and mysterious way. India’s two safest prisons — Kala Pani and Open Air Jail — are attacked simultaneously. From Kala Pani, where dreaded criminals are imprisoned, notorious criminals like Hayana and the Trapper come together to rescue ‘Angar’, a criminal whose body is made of fire. On the other hand, the ‘Multiplying’ Professor kidnaps Martin from the Open Air Prison, where the reformed prisoners live. Professor Martin is a great scientist who became a criminal due to circumstances and was now living a peaceful life.

When Inspector Vinay, another form of Parmanu, arrives to investigate these incidents, he encounters a heart-wrenching tragedy. He finds the mutilated bodies of Professor Martin’s two innocent children, Pinky and Vinu, who were under Vinay’s care. This incident shocks Vinay to the core. It doesn’t take long for him to understand that these two incidents are directly related to Parmanu and that someone is hatching a very big and dangerous conspiracy against him.

The real mastermind of the story is the ‘Brain Master’ operating behind the scenes — a vicious and cruel criminal, whose aim is not only to destroy Parmanu but also to loot the age-old treasure of Raja Ranjit Singh. The Brain Master knows that it is almost impossible to defeat Parmanu in a direct fight, so he makes a psychological move. He gathers Parmanu’s oldest and most powerful enemies — Angar, Hayana, Naphdaaz, and Gunakar.

But his deadliest weapon is Professor Martin. The Brain Master shows Professor Martin an edited video of the murder of his children, in which it appears that they have been killed by Inspector Vinay, i.e., Parmanu. Professor Martin’s mental balance is shattered by the gruesome death of his children. Burning in a fire of grief, anger, and vengeance, he uses his powers and turns into Typhoon — a powerful water-man who wants to eliminate Parmanu. Now Parmanu is faced not just with a few criminals, but with a friend who, through deception and grief, has become his worst enemy. This is where a story of action, emotion, and suspense begins, which keeps the readers engaged till the end.

Characterization: The Hero, the Villain, and the Duality of Emotions
The greatest strength of this comic is its characters and their emotional portrayal.

Parmanu/Inspector Vinay: In this story, Parmanu is not just a superhero but is also seen as a human being. The grief of the children’s deaths and the guilt of not being able to keep the word given to Professor Martin both weaken and strengthen him. He not only fights his enemies but also struggles with the emotional turmoil inside him. His character here is that of an ideal hero who is tested on both physical and mental levels.

Professor Martin/Typhoon: Undoubtedly, the saddest and most powerful character in this story is Typhoon. A good man, a loving father, whom circumstances and a cruel conspiracy turn into a destructive force. His pain, his screams, and his hatred for Parmanu can be felt by readers. He’s a villain you don’t hate, but sympathize with. When he breaks down upon seeing the corpses of his children, that scene is one of the comic’s most memorable and moving moments. His every blow is not just a physical attack on Parmanu, but the cry of a broken heart.

Brain Master: Brain Master is a classic mastermind villain. He is not physically powerful, but his mind is more dangerous than any weapon. He knows how to play with the emotions of others and can stoop to any extent to achieve his goal. His cruelty and cunning make him a dangerous enemy.

The Team of Villains: Angar, Hayana, Phandebaaz, and Gunakar are all effective in their respective roles. They are not just part of the crowd, but each gets the opportunity to showcase their powers. This team presents a major challenge to Parmanu, making the action side of the story very strong.

Supporting Characters: Parmanu’s fellow journalist Mamta and her maternal uncle, the Professor (who is a scientist and creator of Parmanu), play an important role in the story. Mamta gives emotional support to Vinay, and the Professor finally gives a new direction to the story by helping Parmanu at a crucial juncture.

Writing and Portraiture: The Art of Storytelling
Hanif Azhar’s writing is the soul of this comic. The pace of the story is fast, and one does not feel bored anywhere. The dialogues are character-friendly and impressive, especially those of Typhoon, which are full of pain and anger. The fabric of the story is very cleverly woven. The gradual uncovering of the conspiracy and the eventual revelation of the truth maintain the reader’s curiosity throughout. The very title “Ab Marega Parmanu” sets the stakes of the story very high, causing the reader to constantly fear that perhaps this time the hero will really lose.

Manu’s portrayal is reminiscent of the golden age of Raj Comics. Every panel is lively and detailed. The action sequences have amazing speed and energy. The designs of Parmanu, Typhoon, Angar, and other characters are memorable. The most commendable work is the depiction of emotions. Manu has skillfully brought to the canvas the expressions of sorrow, anger, and helplessness on Professor Martin’s face, and the determination and anguish in the eyes of Parmanu. Colors have also been used according to the mood of the story — while action scenes use bright shades, emotional scenes use dark and calm tones to make the story more effective.

Why is “Ab Marega Parmanu” Special?
This comic is more than just a fight, as it gives a mature dimension to the story by touching on deep emotions like friendship, trust, betrayal, and revenge. It also features a forceful villain in the form of Typhoon, whose own painful background separates him from an ordinary villain. The high-stakes plot not only involves the safety of the city, but also places the hero’s life and reputation at risk, while an innocent friend turning into an enemy makes the story personal and intense. In the end, Hanif Azhar’s tight script and Manu’s energetic artwork combine to create an unmatched experience that still attracts readers.

Conclusion
“Ab Marega Parmanu” is not just a comic, but an important chapter in the history of Indian comics. It is one of the finest adventures of Parmanu and an excellent example of Raj Comics’ storytelling ability. It shows how a superhero’s story can be given a strong emotional foundation along with action. If you are a fan of 90’s comics or want to read a story that has the right balance of action and emotion, this comic is a must-read for you. It is a work that has stood the test of time and is as relevant and entertaining today as it was at the time of its publication.
