In the world of Indian comics, Raj Comics has entertained readers for decades and gifted them many unforgettable characters. Among them, two of the most iconic are Kobi and Bhediya. They are not only known for their immense power, but also for their strange friendship, bitter rivalry, and complex relationship. Thu Thu, presented by Sanjay Gupta and written by Tarun Kumar Wahi, is a milestone in the Kobi-Bhediya series. It’s not just an action-packed comic but a deep story of psychology, transformation, and ego clash, brought to life by the phenomenal artwork of Dheeraj Verma.

When the Villain Became the Hero

The story begins with a profound thought: “Change is the law of the world.” This very idea lays the foundation for everything that follows.

The true hero here is Kobi. Once feared as a selfish and terrifying beast of the jungle, he undergoes a surprising transformation. Jane’s dream is fulfilled; now she doesn’t just have Bhediya, but also Kobi — both becoming her true pillars of support.

The tale opens at Tamas Mukhparvat, where the forest dwellers have gathered to make offerings to their god, Tamas. This was the very ritual that Kobi once disrupted. But today, something different happens. As the people return after the offering, they suddenly come face-to-face with Kobi himself. His very name was enough to terrify them, and panic spreads instantly. In the stampede, some people fall into Tamas’ mouth.

Here comes the first big twist: the old Kobi might have laughed at their fate, but the new Kobi saves them with his mighty tail. Not only that, along with hundreds of wolves, he also offers fruits and roots to the god Tamas.

This news spreads like wildfire. Sardar Jangura, who witnessed it all, rushes to Fuzzo Baba. At first, Baba doesn’t believe him. But Jangura insists and declares that now the forest has two guardians — Bhediya and Kobi. He even marks the tribe’s door with both the wolf face and the Kobi face.

And here begins the real conflict. Bhediya, who had always been seen as the sole protector of the forest, cannot tolerate this. When Jangura delivers the news, Bhediya explodes: “This forest is mine! Only my law will rule here.” In his fury, he attacks Jangura and gravely injures her.

Meanwhile, Kobi continues his newfound good behavior. He swings children with his tail, plays with them, and helps the villagers. Children who once trembled at his name now begin to see him as their friend. Watching this, Bhediya’s jealousy and anger reach boiling point. He cuts down the children’s swing with an arrow and directly attacks Kobi.

But Kobi has changed. Instead of fighting, he tries to talk calmly. Bhediya, however, refuses to listen.

Gradually, other tribes also begin to accept Kobi as a protector and start marking Kobi Mukh. Enraged, Bhediya attacks those tribes, burns their marks, and threatens: whoever dares to speak Kobi’s name will be killed.

Finally, the story reaches a direct showdown between Kobi and Bhediya. Bhediya tries to rip off Kobi’s tail, thinking it’s the source of his power. But instead, the tail only grows longer — leaving Bhediya stunned.

At that moment, Jane steps in. She tries to explain that Kobi has truly changed, that there’s no need for this fight anymore. But Bhediya’s ego has grown so massive that he cannot accept it. Instead, he even threatens Jane. And in the end, unable to face his humiliation and defeat, Bhediya walks away.

By the conclusion, Kobi becomes the new hero of the jungle dwellers, while Bhediya… is left alone, consumed by his own arrogance.

    The Real Clash of Heroism

Kobi: The true hero here. He proves that anyone — human or beast — can change. He no longer uses his strength to terrify but to protect and help. His dialogues even carry innocence, like: “Hey! Why did they run away as soon as they saw me?” He plays with children, respects elders, and even the scene of him pressing Fuzzo Baba’s feet shows his newfound humility.

Bhediya: Cast in the role of a villain here, but he’s not a typical villain. He’s actually the protector of the forest, but his heroism is clouded by arrogance and insecurity. He cannot bear to share the spotlight with Kobi. To him, Kobi’s transformation is a threat to his own identity. His jealousy, rage, and violence all stem from his wounded pride.

Jane & Fuzzo Baba: Jane is the catalyst for Kobi’s change, a voice of reason throughout the story. Fuzzo Baba, on the other hand, represents wisdom and experience. Initially doubtful, he slowly comes to accept Kobi — symbolizing how society too takes time to accept change.

    Artwork: Dheeraj Verma’s Spectacular Visuals

Dheeraj Verma’s art breathes life into this comic.

    • Action Scenes: The battles between Kobi and Bhediya are grand and powerful. Every frame bursts with energy, and the tail-fight sequences are especially memorable.
    • Emotions: From Bhediya’s furious, burning eyes to Kobi’s innocence and Jane’s concern — the facial expressions perfectly capture the story’s emotions.
    • Paneling: Fast-paced moments are shown in tight panels, while emotional and dramatic scenes are spread across larger ones. The atmosphere of the jungle and Tamas Mukhparvat adds depth and mystery.

Writing and Message: Learning to Accept Change

Tarun Kumar Wahi’s writing is the backbone of this story.

    • Dialogues: Short, simple, and impactful. Like: “From today our protector is just one… Kobi!”
    • Theme: The core message is about embracing change. When someone transforms for the better, it takes time for society to truly accept them. At the same time, the story highlights how ego and jealousy can destroy even the strongest of heroes.

    Conclusion

Thu Thu isn’t just another Kobi vs. Bhediya fight. It’s a major turning point in their relationship. It shows us that a true hero isn’t defined by strength alone, but also by compassion and humility.

Packed with action, layered characters, outstanding artwork, and a powerful message, this comic stands out as one of the most memorable and important stories in the Raj Comics universe. Even today, it hits just as hard as it did back then.

And trust me — if you’re a Raj Comics fan, Thu Thu is an absolute must-read.
