‘Shakti’ is a completely different and special character in the big and colorful universe of Raj Comics. While heroes like Nagraj and Dhruv fight criminals with their power or brain, Shakti was born to protect women from atrocities and to safeguard the rights of innocent people. Chanda, who works in a hospital in Delhi, turns from a common woman into the goddess ‘Shakti’ to clean up the mess of society. “Ayee Shakti” is a very important milestone in this path of justice.

Presented by Sanjay Gupta and written by Tarun Kumar Wahi and Vivek Mohan, this comic is the story of standing against oppression, women empowerment, sensitivity, and corruption. Dheeraj Verma’s brilliant artwork has made this story even more effective and lively.

Summary of the story: Mamta and the fire of justice

The story begins at ‘New Delhi Institute of Medical Sciences’, Delhi. It is here that we meet the heroine Chanda, who works at the hospital reception. She does her work with complete honesty and punctuality. Chanda believes that every moment spent in the hospital can make the difference between life and death for a patient.

Picnic with orphan children and broken hopes:
Chanda is very soft and sensitive at heart. After the end of her duty, she goes out to keep her promise to take the children of an orphanage named ‘Ashram’ to the amusement park. The children are very happy and excited. Chanda takes them in a bus to the park, but after reaching there, everyone’s happiness breaks in a moment. Due to an increase in taxes by the government, the management of the park has closed it. Tears in the eyes of the orphan children awaken the ‘power’ hidden within Chanda.

The manifestation of power and unique entertainment:
Chanda goes into solitude and takes the form of the goddess ‘Shakti’ to bring back the happiness of the children. Here, a different style of power is seen—she does not just appear as a destructive goddess, but as a protector and a mother of happiness. She uproots the park’s big swings like Columbus and the Dragon Train and brings them out of the park so that the children can have fun without paying. Not only this, she also lifts the heavy generator along with the swings. This whole scene shows the tremendous strength of Shakti as well as her sensitive heart.

Conspiracy and fatal accident:
It is only when the children are happily returning that the story takes a dangerous turn. The brakes of the bus suddenly fail and the children start vomiting. Later, it is revealed that the fruit and burgers given to them were mixed with poison; that is, it was a case of food poisoning. The bus is moving at high speed towards a broken flyover, and the situation becomes very scary.

Characterization of characters

Chanda / Shakti:
Chanda is an ideal working woman who performs her duties with full responsibility. She does not take the form of Shakti until human efforts fail. The incarnation of Shakti is extremely fierce and impressive. She wears clothes resembling tiger skin, and her blue body gives her a distinct identity among other heroes. In this issue, she is seen protecting orphan children like a mother.

Manager (Villain) of Ashram:
The villain of this story shows the dirty face of society, who sees only his own benefit in the name of religion and service. He does not shy away from committing disgusting acts like mixing poison in the food of innocent children and causing their bus to meet with an accident. His entire thinking is driven by a blind race for money.

Orphan children:
The presence of children in the story deeply touches the sentiments of the readers. Their small joys and the sudden danger they face later connect the reader to the story at a deeper emotional level.

Art and Portraiture

Dheeraj Verma’s brilliant art emerges as the biggest strength of this comic. He has not only strengthened the structure of the characters but has also taken the action scenes to a completely different level. In his artwork, the form of the goddess ‘Shakti’ appears extremely powerful and grand, but at the same time, the compassion seen in her eyes gives further depth to her divine nature. The comic’s action scenes, especially the swing-lifting panels and the iron-melting scenes on the flyover, are so finely detailed and depicted that the reader is left amazed. Sunil Pandey’s brilliant color scheme has brought life to this artwork. The golden ‘halo’ (aura) built around Shakti showcases her divine presence and boundless energy in a very clean and impressive way.

Social and moral aspects of the story

“Ayee Shakti” is not just a superhero action comic, but it also brings out many bitter truths of society. This story boldly exposes the corruption prevalent in institutions considered sacred, such as orphanages. The comic deeply highlights the ignorance and helplessness of orphans. Shakti’s dialogue—“a poor child will be able to roam the park only when entertainment becomes cheap”—turns into a direct and sharp taunt on our government policies. The transformation of Chanda into Shakti symbolizes that women can clean up the mess of the system spread by male-dominated thinking. This idea further strengthens the concept of women empowerment. In the end, Shakti’s statement that “the blind glitter of money has sucked out humanity” clearly presents the ongoing struggle between selfishness and humanity.

Features and shortcomings of the comic

Features:
The story of “Ayee Shakti” delivers strong messages along with entertainment and serious social issues. Using Shakti’s powers not only for action, but also creatively in tasks like saving lives and building bridges, makes it special. Shakti’s emotional connection with children makes the entire story extremely sensitive and heart-touching.

Drawbacks:
It is not very difficult for Shakti to catch a dangerous person like the manager, who acts as the villain, due to which his end feels somewhat weak. If the villain had possessed any special or supernatural powers, the thrill of the story could have increased further. Also, the initial scenes related to the hospital could have been kept slightly shorter so that the main story could have received more time.

Technical side: Writing and dialogue

Tarun Kumar Wahi and Vivek Mohan have made the dialogues quite effective. In Shakti’s dialogues, the seriousness and authority of a goddess are clearly felt. A dialogue like—“playing with the lives of innocent children, you are sleeping comfortably, Satan!”—fills the reader with anger toward the criminal.
T. R. Azad’s calligraphy is clear and unambiguous, causing no difficulty in reading the comic. This issue proves to be a very important link in Raj Comics’ ‘Shakti Series’.

Conclusion: Final Opinion

“Ayee Shakti” is a comic that readers of all ages can love. It teaches us that the power within us should not be used only for our own protection, but also for those who cannot protect themselves.
This issue firmly establishes the compassionate image of Shakti’s character. Her concern for orphans makes her not just a superheroine, but a true ‘messiah’. Dheeraj Verma’s powerful artwork and the strong social message hidden in the story make this comic one of the finest issues of Raj Comics.
If you want to read a story that delivers strong emotions along with tremendous action, “Ayee Shakti” will be a great experience for you. It reminds us that the eyes of the goddess of justice are never closed, and when injustice rises, an incarnation of ‘Shakti’ surely appears to punish it.
