Kali Vidhwa is a significant character in the Doga Comics, with the purpose of seeking justice for women who have been tormented by injustice. She seeks revenge, whether it requires confronting the police or facing Doga himself. While both Kali Vidhwa and Doga share the common goal of ending violence, Doga fights for everyone, while Kali Vidhwa focuses specifically on women.
Similar to the power that resonates only with women, Kali Vidhwa arrives like a storm in Doga’s life. Unlike Doga, she possesses no supernatural powers and relies solely on her physical strength. She uses a nylon rope to climb and descend buildings and perform stunts, similar to how Dhruv and Tiranga use their abilities.
Kali Vidhwa first appeared in her own comic, where she aimed to eliminate a mafia boss-like figure called Kala Boss to bring justice to a woman. In the course of this, she crossed paths with Doga, leading to a misunderstanding and a clash between them.
Kali Vidhwa becomes a significant force in Doga’s life, especially in the crucial stages of Doga’s life. The comics begin with ‘Cheekh Doga Cheekh,’ where Monica, initially hating Doga, transforms into ‘Lomdi’ to see his true identity. However, a mysterious person knocks Doga unconscious and leaves him in a gym. The next comic, ‘Kali Vidhwa,’ reveals the real name of the character as Sonika. Sunil mistakes her for his ‘Sonu’ and proposes marriage to her. In the ‘I Love You’ comics, Sunil discovers that Monica is Sonu, and once again, Sonika, alias Kali Vidhwa, develops hatred towards men.
The transformation of Sonika into Kali Vidhwa is not explicitly shown; all we know is that she was the daughter of a wealthy father. Ritesh, entrapping her in his love, manipulated her into marrying him and later betrayed and murdered her father. Subsequently, Sonika attempted to poison Ritesh but ended up killing him instead.
While Kali Vidhwa has appeared in several Doga comics, she hasn’t been seen in any other comic series after ‘Khoon Ka Khatra’.
