Nag Tantra Nagina, the chief enemy of Nagraj, is included in the list of Nagraj’s main adversaries. The first encounter between Nagraj and Nagina was depicted in the Jal Comics series where Mahatma Kaladoot revealed the history of Nagraj and Nagina, including the establishment of Nagdweep.
When Kaladoot arrived at the island, there were three hostile tribes ruling the region. The first was the Bichhu Dhaade, an extremely dangerous and aggressive tribe. The second was the Makadi Khatu, known for their venomous nature. The last tribe was Kekda Kant, residing on the seashore and constantly at war with the other two tribes. Kaladoot deemed the place suitable for the Nagas as it provided abundant food for them, and they could remain hidden from humans. With his tactics, Kaladoot eliminated all three tribes and imprisoned their leaders in a cave.
Recognizing the potential, Kaladoot called Nagina, assuring her the task of protecting the Nagas and establishing herself as the queen. Nagina assisted the Nagas by using her mystical powers to drive away the attackers. She became the queen of Nagdweep. However, her desire for more magical powers led her to sacrifice the Nagas, resulting in Kaladoot making Maniraj, the father of Visarp, the king of Nagdweep.
Nagina escaped with three prisoners and, knowing Kaladoot would send Nagraj to capture her, initiated the ongoing conflict between them. Nagina’s unique trait is her strategic approach; she never attacks Nagraj alone. Instead, she selectively allies with Nagraj’s other enemies, be it Miss Killer, Nagdant, or Vishandhar. Her ultimate goal is to become the queen of Nagdweep, and her encounters with Nagraj continue to be a compelling saga of power dynamics and strategic maneuvers.
