The Spiderman movie has a famous line, “great power comes with great responsibility.” This means that having significant power also brings a significant responsibility. However, in comics, there are heroes who don’t possess any superpowers but still strive to fulfill their responsibilities. Even if they get injured, to the extent of risking their lives, they emerge to protect people. Whether it’s Raj Comics’ super commando Dhruv, Doga, or Radha Comics’ Mahakal, DC Comics’ Batman, or Marvel Comics’ The Punisher and Daredevil. One such character is Sikandar, created by Manoj Comics.
Sikandar, a regular boy from Jamnagar, whose father was a professor named Divakar. At that time, he was Vikram, aspiring to become a skating champion but had a weakness: he couldn’t tolerate injustice and would get involved in conflicts. This led to embarrassment for his father, to the extent that Vikram once attempted suicide due to the shame he caused his father. Witnessing Vikram being beaten by Ajit, the wealthy son of the influential Singhania, Vikram’s uncle Chang intervened, saving Vikram’s life. Chang, the only one who survived Singhania’s attack, taught Vikram the art of combat in the fire of revenge.
Numerous events unfolded, including Vikram going to jail, breaking out, and eventually returning to Rajkot, where he eliminated Ajit and Singhania. As mentioned earlier, Sikandar doesn’t possess any superpowers; he relies on the combat techniques taught by his mentor Chang. In the early comics, he wears skates and conceals his identity with red-tinted glasses, actively pursuing criminals. He shows no mercy to wrongdoers, making him a criminal in the eyes of the law. However, he still aids the police, and perhaps that’s why they don’t see him as a criminal. In Sikandar comics, all the criminals are those you read about in newspapers every day. Reading Sikandar comics gives you a graphic novel-like experience as the stories are engaging and easy to read.
Some of Sikandar’s comics include Sikandar, Sikandar Ki Jung, 24 Ghante, Aag Aur Barood, Kali Maut (Sikandar), Dusra Sikandar, Sharir Ke Chor, Mere Papa, Jurm Mita Dunga, and Ek Bottle Khoon.
