Thodanga – The Fearless Emperor of the Jungles of Tanzania. He is considered the bravest ruler of the jungle, referred to as the most cruel and violent animal. He cuts elephants as easily as people slaughter sheep and goats. Thodanga needs to eat the flesh of an elephant every day, so no living elephant is found in Thodanga’s valley.
Thodanga was first introduced in Nagaraj’s comic ‘Taj Mahal Ki Chori’ but was portrayed as a common killer. Later, in ‘Nagaraj Aur Kabuki Ka Khazana,’ some scenes provide information about him, as Kabuki is searching for the treasure. Kabuki refers to an elephant whose time has come, and it goes to a special place to sacrifice its life. In the next part, in Nagaraj and Thodanga, Nagaraj confronts him, but Thodanga manages to escape with the help of Guru Elephanto. In the following Nagaraj comics, Thodanga is not shown, and then, due to the deadly mosquitoes spread by the venomous mosquito Ilu in the city, Nagaraj holds Thodanga responsible for the deaths. Thodanga goes to Africa after Nagaraj, and a deadly confrontation between them results in Thodanga being torn into pieces, leading to his death.
Readers were stunned by his death, as finding a villain like Thodanga was difficult. Perhaps the Raj Comics publisher also realized this, as mentioned on their green page that killing Thodanga was their biggest mistake, a loss for Raj Comics. Therefore, they attempted to bring Thodanga back to life. First in the comic ‘Pret Uncle Aur Thodanga Ka Pret’ and then in the Nagaraj titled comic ‘Kali Maut.’ However, Nagaraj easily finishes him off, making it clear that the readers did not like the idea of reviving Thodanga. Thodanga later returned in the Kobi-Bheriya comics in ‘Jeetega Thodanga,’ but this time, he became the prey of Kobi’s wolves. Now, in a new and more massive and ferocious form, he appears in the ‘Kshatipurti Series,’ ready to face Nagaraj once again. In this series, he is shown suffering from a special disease that only Nagaraj’s venom can cure. However, Nagaraj is no more for the world, and before him stands a human ready to fight, who is not Nagaraj at all.
