If King Comics were to be asked about among today’s comic fans, they might not be able to answer, but for the readers of the 90s, this name was familiar. King Comics, which came swiftly and started publishing 6 comics every month, made readers happy, but comic reviewers soon realized that its end was imminent. Because its biggest loss was on the quality of comics. While King Comics was a part of Raj Comics’ sub-division, no one knew why there was a need to open a separate comic company for popular Indian superheroes like Nagraj, Super Commando Dhruv, Doga, Parmanu, Bhediya, Shakti, etc., who were published by Raj Comics.
At the beginning of King Comics, readers praised it a lot. However, it failed to elevate its popularity level like its collaborative organization, Raj Comics, and there were several reasons for this, such as the story that created confusion when seen. For example, the story of Abhedya belonged to a different era because some characters seemed old while others seemed contemporary, making it difficult for readers to connect with it. As a result, its popularity declined, and eventually, the decision was made to shut it down. A plan was made to merge some of its characters into Raj Comics, but no character seemed suitable other than Gamraj. And the decision was right because Gamraj played his role excellently. King Comics, which started in 1993-94, came to an end by the year 2000.
Here is a brief overview of some characters from King Comics.
